I made it to my first night in San Francisco, and had a little bit of Kismet, because in a few short days I will be San Diego and staying in the Affluent neighborhood of Kensington.
The Hotel is a gorgeous 1925 Gothic style building. The stylish lobby features hand-painted ceilings, modern artwork, and serves complimentary tea and sherry, nightly to hotel guests.
I first noticed the sculpture of a Horse in the Lobby.

(MY View) A Senate in the Gun Lobby’s Grip!
SENATORS say they fear the N.R.A. and the gun lobby. But I think that
fear must be nothing compared to the fear the first graders in Sandy Hook Elementary School
felt as their lives ended in a hail of bullets. The fear that those
children who survived the massacre must feel every time they remember
their teachers stacking them into closets and bathrooms, whispering that
they loved them, so that love would be the last thing the students
heard if the gunman found them.
On Wednesday, a minority of senators gave into fear
and blocked common-sense legislation that would have made it harder for
criminals and people with dangerous mental illnesses to get hold of
deadly firearms — a bill that could prevent future tragedies like those
in Newtown, Conn., Aurora, Colo., Blacksburg, Va., and too many
communities to count.
Some of the senators who voted against the background-check
amendments have met with grieving parents whose children were murdered
at Sandy Hook, in Newtown. Some of the senators who voted no have also
looked into my eyes as I talked about my experience being shot in the
head at point-blank range in suburban Tucson two years ago, and
expressed sympathy for the 18 other people shot besides me, 6 of whom
died. These senators have heard from their constituents — who polls show
overwhelmingly favored expanding background checks. And still these
senators decided to do nothing. Shame on them.

Chris Daughtry 33, is an American musician best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the rock band Daughtry and as the fourth-place contestant on the fifth season of American Idol, the competition that he was eliminated from on May 10, 2006. After his elimination from Idol, he was given a record deal by RCA Records and formed a band called Daughtry. (JESSE on the BRINK) Tasmania!
At the end of the world is Tasmania, and it shows! It's sweepingly vast, wild and desolate. Beautiful. You can drive across it east to west in 5 hours, north to south in 3. With ten days on the island, there was no shortage of scenic views, trail runs, and friendly locals who call the rest of us "mainlanders".
Tasmania was once called Van Diemen's land. And it was the last place a convict wanted to go. Once a notorious penal colony, Port Arthur is now a major heritage site and tourist destination. It's a place that looks so idyllic, but drawn in you discover it's a place of horror... a bit like Ted Bundy's face.
We spent a couple days wandering Port Arthur, learning about various prisoners, hearing stories of escape, of punishment, of how they reformed rogues with "revolutionary" penal practices such as the separate prison, where you were isolated and couldn't speak, see or communicate with anyone, but you were forced to attend church. Apparently, if you reflected upon your sins in silence long enough you would come to see the light. Keep in mind many of the convicts were here chained at the ankles and doing hard labor for having, I kid you not, stolen silverware.

(SHOWCASE) Belinda Carlisle's Gay Son in an Upcoming Noir Thriller, Disappear Here!
The teaser for James Duke Mason's Kickstarter-funded noir thriller Disappear Here is out. Paper writes: ...the film is directed by Matthew Mishory (Joshua Tree, 1951), produced by Mason's father Morgan Mason (producer of Sex, Lies & Videotape who got back into the business to produce it) and centers around a young actor (played by Mason) who becomes embroiled in a blackmail conspiracy to derail a senator's presidential campaign. The full feature will be shot later this year. Mason told us back in the day that the movie is "going to serve as a catalyst for making a difference for the openly gay actors in Hollywood and trying to shed some light on those issues...that have never been exposed in this way before."
Mason has some experience in the 'openly gay actor' category. You may recall his 'Trailblazer' campaign which had the mission of creating a more accepting environment for openly LGBT entertainers in Hollywood. He also gives us a little exclusive. His mom, Belinda Carlisle, has a cameo in the film.

The other two are my underdogs that surprised us all by sailing through the competition without having to lip-sync for their life once, Alaska and Jinkx Monsoon. Jane Fonda was among the stars on hand and she tweeted just tweeted this photo from the curtain call. You see Robinson at the left next to Motown founder Berry Gordy who wrote the book for the show and on his right is Miss Ross. Right next to Diana is her one-time singing partner, former Supreme Mary Wilson.
These two have quite a history – and it’s not all good. Girlhood friends from the Detroit projects, they are founding members of the Supremes. But the last time these two ladies stood on a stage together was 30 years ago for Motown’s 25th anniversary special. Their reunion, which also included fellow Supreme Cindy Birdsong (who replaced the late Florence Ballard in the group) was a disaster. Ross and Wilson clashed and there was some elbowing of Wilson out of the spotlight by Ross.
In 2000, they tried to reunite for a tour but negotiations fell apart amid hard feelings between Ross and Wilson.
It’s nice to see them on the same stage again – not sure how friendly they were but when I find out, will certainly share!

Annette Funicello, the gays miss you! The onetime Mouseketeer was damn fab, and it takes one viewing of Beach Blanket Bingo to know she kept a lot of starpower in her hips.
But the Disney alumna's death got me thinking: How many classic Disney characters were probably gay? I know it's stupid to assign sexuality to ancient cartoon characters, but it's stupid-er to pretend they couldn't have been gay at all. And with that, let's talk about how gay they all were. Finally saw 'Grey Gardens' the Musical, the Joint-Production of Seattle's 5th Avenue Theater and A.C.T. and was blown away the production, not necessary the show itself, but I do get where they were coming from. More Later.
Grey Gardens is a musical with book by Doug Wright, music by Scott Frankel, and lyrics by Michael Korie, based on the 1975 documentary of the same title about the lives of Edith Ewing Bouvier Beale ("Big Edie") and her daughter Edith Bouvier Beale ("Little Edie") by Albert and David Maysles. The Beales were Jacqueline Kennedy's aunt and cousin, respectively. Set at Grey Gardens, the Bouviers' mansion in East Hampton, New York, the musical tracks the progression of the two women's lives from their original status as rich and socially polished aristocrats to their eventual largely isolated existence in a home overrun by cats and cited for repeated health code violations. However, its more central purpose is to untangle the complicated dynamics of their dysfunctional mother/daughter relationship.
The show feel like 2 different shows, with 2nd act as 180 degree turn.

In 2004 he played the role of Brett Patterson in the direct-to-video film Cruel Intentions 3. Most recently he starred in the vampire comedy Vampires Suck. Weber is now on 90210 as Mark (Annie and Naomi's Half Brother).

- New Jersey just hit Mary J. Blige with a tax lien of more than $900,000. She was also recently sued for defaulting on a $500,000 loan.
- Stephen Baldwin actually went to jail for not filing a personal income tax return from 2008 to 2010. He's currently working on a plea deal for the $350,000 he reportedly owes.
- Nicolas Cage is perhaps one of those best-known for having tax troubles, but he reportedly paid $6.25 million toward the massive bill recently.
- After he died, much of Sammy Davis Jr.'s memorabilia was sold at auction to help settle his $5.2 million tax bill.
- After news broke that he owes almost $12 million in taxes, Chris Tucker joked at one of his shows, "That's the last time I let Wesley Snipes help me out with my taxes."
