(WHITE PARTY 2015) Frankie Grande: A GAY LATINO OPRAH?

by David Luc Nguyen (Teriyaki Temple)

Outview’s David Luc Nguyen (aka Teriyaki Temple) catches up with the Frankie Grande: Social Media Bad Boy, TV personality ('Big Brother 16'), Broadway star (Rock of Ages) and Big Bro of Reigning Pop-Princess (Ariana Grande). They chat about everything from meeting Madonna, his favorite moments from the past year, his thoughts on the new Pope and gushes about his upcoming appearance as this year’s Ambassador at White Party Palm Springs where he will co-host with this year’s White Party Queen Kelly Osborne! Unless you've been completely out of the loop or perhaps living under a rock (of ages) you have probably heard of Frankie Grande.

Prior to this interview I admit I only knew of him by several nicknames including:
o 'Ariana Grande's Gay older brother'
o 'That Gay guy on 'Big Brother 16' that was always snuggling with the hot straight guy'
o 'One of YouTube's Gay Dude Channel hosts'
o 'That pretty boy that hosted the Grammy Awards Red Carpet half-naked'
o 'Franz from Rock of Ages on Broadway'

Now take all of those nicknames and couple them with the bleach blonde hair (with purple tips), a tanned perfect body (who posts scantily clad pictures of himself on “topless Tuesdays”), his sister is with a pop-star with “alleged” diva tendencies (btw totally not true) and add in an outrageous (yet endearing) personality on his hugely popular YouTube channel, what conclusion about this stranger would you make? After I scratched the surface I came to the conclusion. . . .

Make sure to check out my “pink box mash-up” below where I double Oprah and Frankie side by side bento box style!

(WPPS 2014) INTER-view: Slant Eye for the Queer Guy – Bravo’s “Queer Eye” Jai Rodriguez talks to Asian Diva: Teriyaki Temple!

by Teriyaki Temple

Queer Eye’s “Culture Expert,” #Jai Rodriguez talks candidly with about everything from Life after #Bravo, dating in Weho, dealing with Gossip Queens, and what’s next for the multi-talented hottie (including his hosting job at #WPPS - White Party Palm Springs this year). Things get even hotter as he talks about his favorite body parts, enjoying the #HoneyHole and even invites TT into his bedroom to show her where all the “magic” happens.

Jai Rodriguez, the GAY Icon likes “fish!” In the past year he has invited seven (7) different “ladies” of all colors to stay in his bedroom! “I even had to separate them because they are so territorial they would fight and beat each other up. I finally got so tired of cleaning out their containers I had a custom tank with filtrated compartments made so they wouldn’t hurt each other.” Ok, let’s be honest, if you’re even as half as twisted like I am, you were totally thinking, “it rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again” from Silence of the Lambs.

Luckily for us, the New York born Italian and Puerto Rican choir boy we all fell in love with 10 years ago still likes dudes and doesn’t like that kind “fish” (the lady kind). He’s just a (Beta) fish hoarder. He started collecting them after he starred in San Diego REPertory Theatre’s “In the Heights” where his boss’ name was Mr. Beta. “I fell in love them because they are so regal looking with their long, colorful, and dramatic fins. They look like they are wearing a silk kimono. If there was a drag queen fish, it would totally be the Beta.”

Now that we’ve cleared up that rumor up, let’s talk about what Jai Rodriguez has been up to since Queer Eye. As mentioned above, the multi-talented member of the “Fab Five” has been a busy fellow.

(OUTscene NW) Flurries of Fabulousness Blanket Winter Pride!

by David Luc Nguyen

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard that super catchy annoying youtube “song” that Ylvis sings, “What does the fox say?”  Last week at Winter Pride I learned what “Gay Bears” say. They say “woof!” Who would have guessed? I grew up thinking they said “roar.”

(OUTscene AMERICA) The Ten Greatest 80’s Commercials!

by David Luc Nguyen

Big hair, cheesy music, fear mongering, subtle racism, gross exaggerations and throw in celebrities before they were famous are some of the reasons why 80’s commercials the best!

10. I Learned It From Watching You!
The anti-drug PSA’s were so awesome in the 80’s. It was a three way tie for my favorite one.
“I Learned It from Watching You!”
“No One Ever Grows Up Saying They Wanna Be a Junkie,” and
“This Is Your Brain On Drugs!”

9. Peppermint Gum, Double Your Pleasure? Doubley Catchy Music!
Don’t lie, you know every word to this catchy commercial! Lovin’ the 80’s sexy and the Princess Diana haircuts are so awesome!

8. Motor-Mouth Micromachine Man
I never understood a single thing this dude but all I knew was that I had to have one of those tiny cars!

7. Cherry 7UP and the cutest Friend (Matt LeBlanc)
High Tech Graphics and cutie pie Matt LeBlanc before he was famous is why this commercial is the “Ups!”

6. Chinese, Japanese eeeh…what’s the difference?
It was the 80’s so you can’t be too surprised, Japanese Dude (Mr. Miyaki) talking about digging a hole to China and something about teeth in there too.

5. Milk Does His Body Good!
I remember this commercial. I drank hundreds of gallons of milk in the hopes of growing up to be that tough sexy guy on the other side of the mirror. Instead, all the milk did was make me break out and get bloated! Did you know milk contributes to acne and we are the only animal that drinks milk after adolescence?

(OUTscene AMERICA) INTER-view: Getting Candid with Jaymes Vaughan; 'A Total Doll'!

 by David Luc Nguyen

You know him as the gay-half of the Chippendale’s duo that won America’s hearts during the 21st season of “The Amazing Race”. People all of the country fell in love with Jaymes Vaughan and his BFF, James Davis as they tried to win the grand prize to help Jaymes’ father battle a rare form of cancer. Though the show may be over, it looks like Jaymes Vaughan’s Amazing Journey is just beginning. Following his team’s respectable second place finish, the heart throb is in high-demand.

“It’s unbelievable the response we (he and his TAR teammate) have received. I feel like a Kardashian!” he jokes. “Amazing Race has opened so many doors for us. We’ve been asked to make public appearances, speak at charity events, been on several TV shows (including “Ellen”), and were just finished filming the pilot for a reality series AND a travel show.” Though all of the high profile media events are exciting for Jaymes, what he has really enjoyed the most is educating young people.

“I hope to be able to take advantage of a platform the show has given me. I want to be an example for anyone who doesn’t feel like they fit in. As a fourteen-year-old growing up in rural Chesterfield County, Virginia I had no one to look up to. My mama told me I better not be gay and my church told me gay people would go to hell. I also had a best friend who killed himself because he didn’t fit in. I know what it feels like to be hopeless. Let me tell you there is always hope. If someone like me can make it, anyone can.”
