(Jesse On The Brink) Malta Mia!

by Jesse Archer

Been nearly a month, and what a month... the incredible Atlantis Cruise across the Mediterranean with my very bestest friends from all over the world. First stop, MALTA. They said entering the harbor at Valletta is one of the world's most impressive sailing experiences -- and no kidding.

It's an ancient historical town that was conquered by just about everyone from the Knights Templar to Napolean. The Ottomans 1565 "seige of Malta" they're still talking about. Malta lies in a super strategic position, and also suffered terribly in WW2 bombings -- but every building is still in the same uniform camel color -- even if built in 1982, it still matches the same period and color -- which is just uniformly impressive and so stylistically old world.

(HOTEL SPONSOR) San Francisco's Kensington Park Hotel has Old Gothic Style!

MKS
by MK Scott

I made it to my first night in San Francisco, and had a little bit of Kismet, because in a few short days I will be San Diego and staying in the Affluent neighborhood of Kensington.

The Hotel is a gorgeous 1925 Gothic style building. The stylish lobby features hand-painted ceilings, modern artwork, and serves complimentary tea and sherry, nightly to hotel guests.

I first noticed the sculpture of a Horse in the Lobby.

(JESSE on the BRINK) Tasmania!

by Jesse Archer

At the end of the world is Tasmania, and it shows! It's sweepingly vast, wild and desolate. Beautiful. You can drive across it east to west in 5 hours, north to south in 3. With ten days on the island, there was no shortage of scenic views, trail runs, and friendly locals who call the rest of us "mainlanders".

Tasmania was once called Van Diemen's land. And it was the last place a convict wanted to go. Once a notorious penal colony, Port Arthur is now a major heritage site and tourist destination. It's a place that looks so idyllic, but drawn in you discover it's a place of horror... a bit like Ted Bundy's face.

We spent a couple days wandering Port Arthur, learning about various prisoners, hearing stories of escape, of punishment, of how they reformed rogues with "revolutionary" penal practices such as the separate prison, where you were isolated and couldn't speak, see or communicate with anyone, but you were forced to attend church. Apparently, if you reflected upon your sins in silence long enough you would come to see the light. Keep in mind many of the convicts were here chained at the ankles and doing hard labor for having, I kid you not, stolen silverware.

(LIST) 10 Most Promiscuous Gay Cities In America!

West Hollywood gay men who are hoping for a commitment-free hookup have an extra-special reason to celebrate, as their city has been named the most promiscuous U.S. destination in a new poll.

SeekingArrangement.com, which bills itself as the world's largest "sugar daddy" dating website, polled 11,000 of its active gay members on how many join dating websites with casual sex as their main motivation. West Hollywood took the top spot based on how many gay male members responded to having 10 or more sexual partners in the course of a year, followed by Washington, D.C. and San Francisco in second and third place, respectively.

“According to our study, more gay males utilize online dating for ‘hooking up’ compared to heterosexual males," the site's founder Brandon Wade said in a statement. "While there is always potential to fall in love, online dating makes it very easy to find singles who are similarly looking for something less serious.”

Without further ado, check out SeekingArrangement.com's list of the top 10 most promiscuous gay cities in America below:

(OUTscene NW) PHOTOS/TV: Cruisey T's Pride Cruise was an L.E.C. Experience!

MK w/ James Steck       MK/OS
by MK Scott

Van City Pride is never complete until you make it on a Cruisey-T Pride Cruise, in my case the Pride Party Cruise which is a 4 Hour Floating T-Dance that starts at the Harbour Marina and travel to the English Bay and Back.

Besides Dancing where you stand, there were Drag Performances by Van City's own Raye Sunshine, and Iona Whipp. Did I mention the all-can-you-Buffet Dinner?

CruiseyT's main focus is to raise funds for local charities and organizations within the Gay & Lesbian Communities. Since the inception of CruiseyT in 1991, a total of $600,000 has been donated to worthy causes and direct service agencies. Check Out the Grande Finale on September 2nd.

I still long for the days when Seattle had its own "Queen City Cruise" which was always a Lubricating, Ejaculating Celebration!

(LIST) The World's Priciest City Is...

Looking to ditch these shores and move abroad? Don't head to Tokyo unless you have plenty of moolah to bankroll your expat lifestyle. A cup of coffee will run you $8.29 there, and a single ticket to a movie clocks in at $22.97. Part of the reason for Tokyo's high spot on the list is the strength of the Japanese yen against the dollar, but the city has always ranked highly on Mercer's annual cost-of-living survey, the Wall Street Journal reports: It has been in the top three each year except 2007, when it was No. 4, and it's been No. 1 a dozen times since 1994.

This year, Tokyo displaced last year's No. 1 city, ABC News reports: Luanda, Angola, dropped to No. 2. Moscow, No. 4, is the most expensive European city; Tel Aviv takes that honor among Middle Eastern cities, coming in at No. 31. The US doesn't have an entry until No. 33, New York City, the only US city to make the top 50. The least expensive city of all 214 ranked? Karachi, Pakistan. See the full list.

LIST: Top 10 Trashiest Spring Break Cities!

With spring break nearly here, the connoisseurs of trashiness at COED Magazine have ranked America's top 10 "trashiest" destinations:
  1. Las Vegas: The gambling capital of the world was home to last year's MTV's Spring Break. No beach, but plenty of pool parties.
  2. Key West: Open-container laws go out the window in peak season.
  3. South Padre Island: 50,000 students descend on this Texas locale in March, and kegs are legal on the beach.
  4. Daytona: It's home to NASCAR, but it's earning another distinction: More than 1,000 underage drinkers were arrested here in 2010.
Peruse the rest of the list here.

TRANS FLIGHT: PC Air To Employ 'Third-Gendered' Flight Attendants!

LadyboyattendantsPC Airways is about to become the first Thai airline to employ "ladyboys" as flight attendants. From The Bangkok Post: PC Air is due to commence its maiden commercial service, a charter flight for a tour group from Bangkok to Vientiane on Dec 24, and plans to inaugurate flights to two Chinese cities on a charter basis on Jan 23 next year.

The launch comes after a nine-month delay, which company reps said was occasioned by a desire to cash in on the glut of people traveling during the holiday season, rather than any financial shortfall. (To demonstrate his confidence in the airline's prospects, PC Air's sole proprietor, Peter Chan, elected not to lease the company's first airplane, an Airbus 310-222, and instead bought it outright for 1 billion Thai baht.)

New Hotel Trend: Women-Only Rooms!

In the new trend among high-end hotels, men need not apply. The ritzy Dukes in London is the latest to experiment with women-only rooms, notes Katy Holland at Aol. The idea is to cater to single females or women traveling in groups, and the no-boys-allowed rule applies even to the hotel staff that caters to the rooms. The Naumi in Singapore and Premier in New York City have similar offers, though a Denmark government agency recently ordered the Bella Sky in Copenhagen to stop offering women-only floors.

(OUTscene America) MK's Night in Heaven with the Chippendales in VEGAS!

by MK Scott

No trip to Sin City would be complete without a little Beefcake. November 20th was my Final night in Las Vegas and it was by far the Best of the whole Tour. (I will spill all later).

When I arrived at the Rio's Chippendales Theater, I was greeted by their Sexy and Charming Publicist and was told even though 98% of the audience were women, the majority of last Friday's Audience were Gay Men.

I was thrilled to have a opportunity see this Sexy production and was not disappointed (well, Maybe too many Nude Show Girls and Ariel artists).

FREE with NO-TRAVEL: Probation for Slater Over Emergency-Chute Stunt!

The folk hero and former flight attendant who popped off at a rude passenger then slid down the emergency chute with a beer has been sentenced to a year probation. "That was one moment, that was not indicative of who I am," said Steven Slater, who now plans to move from New York to California and write his memoirs. "I'm in a much better place." Slater became an overnight sensation after his stunt at JFK—but prosecutors said it wasn't funny and caused serious airport delays.

Slater, who said he was under severe stress at the time, pleaded guilty to criminal mischief and underwent counseling and substance abuse treatment, notes AP. He lost his job after the incident, and must pay JetBlue $10,000 in restitution for the cost of restoring the emergency chute.

APPROVED: UK Passports Update 'Mother' and 'Father' Language to Accommodate Gay Parents!

Uk_passport Language on UK passports is being updated to accommodate same-sex couples, the BBC reports: New forms including "parent one" and "parent two" alongside "mother" and "father" are expected to be brought in by the end of the year.

The Home Office says the additional terms will ensure passports are issued securely and safely to the right person. Gay rights groups say the current form is "discriminatory" but family values campaigners say the changes denigrate the roles of mothers and fathers.

The proposals also include sex-free passports to allow transgender people to opt out of identifying themselves as either male or female.

BOOTED: L Word' Actress Leisha Hailey Says Southwest Kicked Her Off Plane for Kissing Girlfriend!

Leisha_hailey
Musician and L Word actress Leisha Hailey claimed in a series of angry tweets today that she was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight for kissing her partner.

Hailey Wrote Hailey: "I have been discriminated against by Southwest Air. Flt. attendant said that it was a 'family' airline and kissing was not ok...This is an outrage. I demand a public apology by @SouthwestAir and a refund. Hate is not a family value. I will never fly this airline....We were escorted off the plane for getting upset about the issue. @SouthwestAir endorses homophobic employees. No one made her accountable. Since when is showing affection towards someone you love illegal? I want to know what Southwest Airlines considers as 'family'."

Hailey also reported that she had recorded evidence of the incident.
