Today GLAAD announced the nominees for the 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, recognizing powerful and important media stories from 2013 - an historic year for LGBT equality. The GLAAD Media Awards honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives. The GLAAD Media Awards also fund GLAAD's work to amplify stories from the LGBT community and issues that build support for equality.
Nominated in the Outstanding Film - Wide Release category are the Oscar-nominated
Philomena,
Blue Is the Warmest Color, Dallas Buyers Club,
Kill Your Darlings, and
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (with the relationship between gay characters Alec and Magnus which will continue in the sequel).
Outstanding Film - Limited Release nominees include
Concussion, Geography Club, Out in the Dark, Reaching for the Moon, and
