SketchShe: Shae-Lee, Lana and Madison - female comedy trio! Brazen, bold and audacious bringing you a mixed bag of characters and chaos!

(Cooking w/ Drag Queens) - Trixie Mattel - Tofu Pad Thai w/ Watercress and Almonds!

All the recipes featured on the show are available in our Season One cookbook: http://feastoffun.com/store - COMING SOON

Most people’s first introduction to Thai food is Pad Thai, Thailand’s signature dish which literally means “fried, thai style.”

People all over the world love this tangy, sweet noodle dish. In the city of Bangkok there are whole food stands dedicated to making this lovely noodle dish. You never forget the first time you taste those sweet, tangy noodles stir fried with eggs, shrimp, tofu and bean sprouts.

Although the flavors seem very complicated, once you get all the ingredients together, it’s quite easy to make. Today we give this classic dish our own twist by adding a peppery watercress and instead of chopped peanuts, garnishing it with sliced almonds.

We’ve always been fans of the quirky Trixie Mattel, the fabulous queen from Wisconsin, who thanks to her sharp sense of humor and distinctive doll like make-up, won the hearts of fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race, making her a standout from Season 7.

It’s funny how much people have an opinion about drag queens and make-up, never actually done it themselves. Marc and I live for Trixie’s extreme make-up style, which after a couple of drinks at a gay bar makes you think you’re talking to a living, giant blow up doll.

(OUTscene NW) Theater RE-view: Before the REAL Housewives, we had the Angry Housewives, Back on Stage at Artswest!

Brunk
by MK Scott

Way back over 30 years ago and before we first heard about DESPERATE Housewives or the REAL Housewives, there was the ANGRY Housewives during time when Housewives meant being a single mom, a submissive wife, single and over the hill and independent, but devoted to their man.

Also this goes way back for me as the Professional Theater scene and I fell in love and has created me lifelong friendships.

This Past weekend, I revisited my beginnings as I saw a little Seattle-bred musical called 'ANGRY Housewives' that was created in 1983 by A.M. Collins and Chad Henry and became Seattle's longest running musical  (6 years) and went from Seattle's Pioneer Square theater to all the way to Off-Broadway in 1986.

(OUTscene NW) Theater RE-view: ACT opens 50th Season with CLASSIC, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”!

Daddy (Aylward) steals it in Act 2                  Bennion
by MK Scott

Tennessee Williams' “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" is an American Classic and is still timeless as it was 60 years ago.

Compared to last year's classic "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolff? at SRT, which I wrote felt a little outdated, "Cat" is still timeless and fresh, thanks to its Southern roots and landscape that unfortunately hasn't changed much in 60 years.

ACT Seattle is mostly known for it's contemporary productions and decided to stage this classic that they first did in its inaugural season in 1965 directed by it's founder,  Gregory Falls and starring his wife, Jean as Maggie the Cat. The Widow Mrs Falls was in the audience on opening night and got a standing ovation.

As a fan of the movie version with Paul Newman as Brick, Elizabeth Taylor as Maggie and Burl Ives as Big Daddy, I was hoping for more of an non-censored version with Brick dealing with his homosexual feelings for his late friend, Skip. In this version you get it and more and feel the pain and disgust Brick feels and the denial to all including himself.

(MK's PIC(k) of the Week) Food Dude, Dan Churchill on DudeFood!

From the breakout star of MasterChef Australia, Dan Churchill’s DudeFood, a cookbook that will educate, motivate, and inspire men to put on an apron and turn on the oven.

Attention, dudes: you no longer have an excuse to avoid the kitchen. Dan Churchill, 25, has written a cookbook for guys who have always wanted to cook, but don’t know where to start; boyfriends who are initimidated by a frying pan; and sons who have too long relied on their parents for meals. These mouth-watering recipes are easy to read and, most important, easy to replicate.

When Churchill was twelve, he put on an apron and agreed to take his turn cooking dinner for his family. Now in his twenties, Churchill draws on his self-taught experience in the kitchen, along with his extensive knowledge of nutrition, to create simple, delicious, and healthy meals. Divided into sections based on everyday scenarios and featuring forty-five recipes, DudeFood shares the secrets to cooking a repertoire of eggs, seafood, poultry, meats, vegetables, sandwiches, and even desserts. If it’s Sunday afternoon and you’re preparing for another long workweek: save time and money with Churchill’s slow roasted beef, a hearty meal you can enjoy that same evening, but also slice up for lunch tomorrow. If it’s early Wednesday morning, and you’re getting ready to hit the gym: mix the ingredients for a banana chocolate smoothie in your blender, which provides the right amount of protein you need to repair your muscles after lifting weights. If it’s Saturday night—date night—and you’re eager to impress, follow Churchill’s directions for baking a shortbread cookie topped with delicious chocolate ganache.

Packed with helpful tips and shortcuts, as well as beautiful photographs, this book will turn any dude into a cook.

Check it OUT!

(IDOL LUST) Season 14's Bad Boy, Quentin Alexander!

Quentin Alexander, 22,  is an American singer from New Orleans, Louisiana. SPOILER: He finished sixth place on the 14th season of singing talent reality show American Idol. The 'Top 5' finalists will be included in a 37-stop summer tour staring in July 2015 in Clearwater, Florida, and going across the country to California.

Alexander also works as a manager at French Connection, a men's clothier, in The Shops at Canal Place in New Orleans.

Last Week, a Heated exchange between judge Harry Connick Jr. and Alexander the noting the incident of Connick scolding a contestant was awkward. Ameircan Idol played up the exchange in a promotional spot aired on the same channel and confirmed they will replay the incident at the beginning of the Top 5 show as part of the recap of the previous week. An AI source also stated that for fairness purposes the judges and contestants have a strict wall of silence between them and only interact onstage so Connick Jr. and Alexander have not had contact since last week. Alexander was eliminated the next show the following week with what Music Times questioned as possibly the first time American Idol "went into an episode with what seemed to be a very clear agenda."

(OUTscene AMERICA) INTER-view: Is Faye Dunaway Trying to Hijack Rutanya Alda’s Mommie Dearest Diaries?

by Leon Acord

OK, so maybe it took her a while to catch on.

After all, she’s not just “Carol Ann.” Veteran character actress Rutanya Alda has played dozens and dozens of roles in her career, in such famous films as The Deer Hunter, Last Exit to Brooklyn, When a Stranger Calls and the cult hit Amityville II, as well as guest roles in almost every TV show that’s shot in New York City since the mid-1980s [and, in theinterest of full disclosure, a recent guest-starring stint on my web series Old Dogs & New Tricks].

But it wasn’t until May 11, 2013, as actress Rutanya Alda was being honored at San Francisco’s historic Castro Theatre, that she realized Mommie Dearest—the Faye Dunaway vehicle in which Alda had played Joan Crawford’s faithful maid—had a huge gay cult following.

She had decided to read snippets from the diary she had kept during production of the infamous 1981 film (which Dunaway which notoriously refused to discuss) at the event.  She was so taken by the enthusiastic response that she then began thinking it might make a good book!

Jump ahead two years. Alda’s “Mommie Dearest Diaries” is set for publication in early summer. And who should call Ms. Alda’s agent but Ms. Dunaway herself, asking if Rutanya would “collaborate” (for an acknowledgement but no pay) with Dunaway on her own book about Mommie Dearest, which Dunaway recently decided to write.

Coincidence? Given Dunaway’s fury whenever asked about the film (till now)—and the fact the two actors haven’t spoken since they shot their final scene over 30 year ago—it does seem rather odd. Did Dunaway catch wind of Alda’s book? And how? Is this a pre-emptive strike? An attempt at damage control?

I talked with Rutanya as soon as I saw the news!

(MNW) Anti-Gay Supreme Court Briefs Are a Huge Mess!

I've rounded up the weirdest Supreme Court briefs that argue in favor of preventing gays and lesbians from marrying. Some are full of mistakes, others have baffling arguments. And at least one is incredibly sexist, and signed by a member of Congress.

(GAY DAYS) Paul’s mom confirms John is his father; Sonny disgusted with Will’s many lies; Marlena calls Will a Mama's Boy!

Is Whiny Will turning into his Mom, Sniveling Sami?
John and Paul get it confirmed that they are father and son. Paul’s mom explains why she never told either one of them. Also in this episode is a new low point for the character of Will Horton who has become a complete liar and a real idiot. Where are they going with Will? Why on Earth would Sonny even want to stay married to Sami Jr. at this point?

I love how a disgusted Sonny says at one point to Will: ‘Are you EVER going to stop lying to me?’

Will’s lies and choices are all biting him in the ass right now with Sonny barely able to stand looking at him and Marlena sharing some hard truths.

As Will sputters his latest nonsense and blame, his grandmother nails it on the head for all of us when she says: ‘Don’t make me sit here and watch you turn into your mother.’

When Sonny and Will are finally face to face, he says to the Will imposter: ‘I have never been this mad at anyone in my entire life.’ On a nicer note, John and Sonny have a nice chat about Paul and it’s clear how much regard Sonny still has for him – how much love.Let’s hope they find a way back to each other. STAY TUNED!

(GLAAD REPORT 2015) Only Warner Bros. doing “Good” with LGBT characters – Disney and Sony “failing”!

Ellis                           Getty

Most of Hollywood’s seven major movie studios continue to come up short when it comes to LGBT representation in its films.

Of the 114 movies they released in 2014, only 20 of them (17.5%) included characters identified as lesbian, gay, or bisexual and there were no identifiable transgender characters, according to the third annual Studio Responsibility Index (SRI) released today by GLAAD.

No studio received a top grade of ‘Excellent’ with Warner Brothers the only studio to receive a ‘Good’ score for its slate of films. Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, and Universal Pictures all scored ‘Adequate’ and Sony Columbia Pictures and The Walt Disney Studios received a score of ‘Failing.’

(OUTscene NW) RE-view: "Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in SEATTLE" at the ACT!

Tracy Martin
by MK Scott

Now, I must confess that I had never heard of Jacques Brel or the Revue of Brel's songbook that was off-Broadway in the late 60's.

Of course, I googled Brel and researched all I could and realized I had heard of some of the music, but performed by American Artists from Sinatra to Andy Williams to John Denver. In Europe, Brel was known as the French Sinatra and was an influence for Bowie and Cohen.

I had already wanted to see the ACT/5th Ave co-production of Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, because; A) The Brillant, David Armstrong was Directing and B) The King of Seattle Musical Theater, Louis Hobson (Balagan's former Artistic Director) was part of this 5-person ensemble.

Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris is a musical revue of the songs of Jacques Brel. Brel's songs were translated into English by Eric Blau and Mort Shuman, who also provided the story. The original 1968 Off-Broadway production ran for four years and spawned international and regional productions, as well as a West End production and Off-Broadway revival, among others. A film adaptation was released in 1975.

(ISA 6) 6th Annual Indie Series Awards Red Carpet Show - Part 8!

Serial Scoop Now was on the red carpet for the 6th Annual Indie Series Awards on Wednesday, April 1, at the historic El Portal Theatre in Los Angeles. Host Michael Taylor Gray interviewed the stars of the web series world on the red carpet. Part 8 of our coverage includes Love Midori's Minae Noji, Graham Shiels, Dominc Rains, Kent King and Milton Liu; Jon and Jen are Married's Jackie Geary and Gregory Fitzsimmons; Down Dog's Kim Strother; The Tiffany and Erin Show's Tiffany Berube and Erin Coleman; Burt Paxton's Burt Grinstead and Aaron Fradkin; Whatever, Linda's Mackenzie Donaldson and Martha MacIsaac; Beverly Pills' Ginger Parker and Michael Villar; Sweethearts of the Galaxy's Michael Premsrirat and Brian Donovan; the Bad Lads cast including Jonathan Biver and producer Michael Plewa; and JTS.TV's Carter Mason.

(GAY DAYS) Will is summoned by Victor; Sonny catches Will lying; Paul finds out!

Will, that means you slept with your Step-Uncle!
Will gets the telling off he has long deserved as he finds out what it’s like to incur the wrath of Sonny’s uncle Victor. Victor says all the things we’ve been feeling for the past several months as once sweet Will has morphed into his mother Sami.

“You’re a clone of your mother – everything you do is somebody else’s fault,’ Victor says to Will.  He then gives Will a threat that if he ever hurts Sonny again, there will be consequences.

Meanwhile, Will’s obnoxious idiot editor Zoe barges in on Sonny and Marlena and instantly becomes the most irritating character to appear on the show in a long time – even more irritating than Serena.

After she leaves Marlena speaks for all of us when she says: ‘What a bitch.’

Will just keeps lying to to Sonny – about the “bombshell” article about Paul’s paternity and about knowing Paul’s mom. We know he’s desperate but he’s just not a good person anymore and we want better for Sonny. But Sonny makes clear to Paul that he is a married man and not available to get back together with him.

Meanwhile, the topic of Paul’s paternity is now taking center stage and this scares Will more than anything. If Paul has family ties in Salem, he’ll never leave town.

In related news, Marelena pays a visit to Paul’s mom and confronts her about her past with John. It all goes down in the final seconds as Sonny, Paul, Will, Marlena, John and Paul’s mom are all brought together at Sonny’s club. This is Will Horton’s worst nightmare and we don’t feel badly for him since he has become such a desperate liar, cheater and blackmailer!

It all builds up nicely in this episode Usually it takes a year or more before any pay off. (New Writers coming soon.) Now, How will Paul react that Will and Sonny are related to him by Marriage? STAY TUNED!

(SHOWcase) John Simpson's The Beach House, the Film!

The Beach House will be one of the first LGBT films focusing on gays in the military. More importantly, what happens when they return to the states, often with PTSD.

As the filmmaking team, our goal is to make an important film that sheds light on the struggles that our vets, both gay and straight, have when they return home. The Beach House will be a beautiful, engrossing and romantically charged film.

It will have a realistic budget, efficient shooting schedule and will show a love story never before seen in an LGBT film.

That said, the total minimum budget for this film is forty thousand dollars, ($40,000) Any money raised above that amount will go towards the cost of conducting this campaign and then to entering the finished film into well-known film festivals and advertising.

Michael Simon has been retained to direct The Beach House. Michael's last film, The Love Patient, which was both written and directed by him, received a global distribution deal with TLA Releasing and was shown on Here! TV. The film won TLA's Gaybie Award for Best Romance/Comedy 2012.

Just one reason that John Simpson, the screenwriter, has such confidence in the creativity and professionalism of Michael Simon. Michael, along with John, will also act as Producer and co-producer. We are happy to give substantial donors the title of Executive Producer.

(Gay USA) You take the Good and Take the Bad!

  • The federal contractors' non-discrimination law took effect this week. It is no longer legal for companies receiving federal contracts to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity and expression.
  • After last week's euphoria over the national condemnation of an anti-gay law in Indiana, we come back to earth with a reality check of continuing attacks on LGBT civil rights.
  • Springfield, Missouri voters repeal an LGBT antidiscrimination law.
  • The "fixes" to the bad laws in Indiana and Arkansas are not so great.
  • The Mormon Church is still railing against same-sex marriage and our "counterfeit lifestyles."
  • ore bad bills advancing in Louisiana, Florida and Texas.
  • The good news is that bad bills have died (for the moment) in Georgia and Nevada.
  • A lesbian couple in Guam is the first to apply for a marriage license there.
  • Ireland approves adoption by same-sex couples, before the referendum on same-sex marriage on May 22nd.
  • The AIDS Healthcare Foundation is accused by three ex-employees of defrauding the government of $20 million.
  • And on April 24th, ABC will devote two hours to Diane Sawyer's interview with Bruce Jenner.
