(GAY DAYS) Sonny leaves Salem for Europe and leaves behind a heartbroken Will – and Paul

Sonny needs a break from all of the Drama Queens!

The stage is set  for a blowout with Will after hapless Will’s latest scheme goes bust. Sonny calls uncle Victor about a job opportunity far, far away then Sonny asks Paul to meet him in the park.

We know it is Sonny’s goodbye and Paul is going to be broken-hearted but will they at least make out a little bit before saying goodbye.


He tells a shocked Will that he needs space and that he will let him know what he decides soon. He does not assure Will that he will return to him and Ari.

Before Sonny arrives home to break the news to Will, Will runs into Paul in the park and apologizes for hi latest misdeed involving Derrick.

Paul has the best line of the day: ‘Will, do you know how many things that you’ve apologized for over the past six months? I’m sorry doesn’t cut it.’ Will Sonny return to find Paul moved in on his side of the bed?

BETTER DAYS: It's been months since Sonny was this Happy!

This Week Freddie's Sonny left Days of our Lives with a promise to return. Let's recap on the character of Sonny:

Sonny's arrival in Salem, 4 years ago, came at the the time with Will Horton's eventual coming out. Will and Sonny connected (They share a Cousin or 2) and when Will was ready, he accepted Sonny's proposal of romance. But along the way, Will got his ex preggers which produced a daughter, Arianna. Gabi (the mother) was sent to prison for killing one of Will's Cousins (Big Family) and left Ari with Will and Sonny to raise (Instant Family). Will and Sonny rushed to the altar for the Best Wedding in Soap History. (Wedded Bliss?)

Will and Ari left town for Hollywood for a few months leaving Sonny all alone when Sonny's ex, (and Baseball star) Paul, arrived and wanted Sonny back. Sonny was willing to talk, but with Will returning, Sonny wanted to make his marriage work. Unknowingly, Will was busy interviewing a mystery subject, while Sonny had his own problems with Paul. Turns out Will's Mystery subject was Paul and with a burst of excitement allowed Paul to take him to bed! Paul didn't know Will was married and Sonny was having secret meetings with Paul too and never told Will about it. What a Mess! When Sonny discovered the affair, he eventually forgave this case of mistaken identity and inexperience. Will schemed to get Paul out of town and got worse when Paul turned out to be is long lost step-uncle (Big Family)! Will felt Paul was a threat to his marriage and Sonny struggled to deny his feelings for Paul and finally had the last straw with Will and needed "TIME" away. Will Sonny return to find Paul and Will an actual couple?Who will Sonny Choose? STAY TUNED!

(GAY DAYS) Kate catches Paul with Derrick; Paul quickly figures out he was set up and confronts Will who later is forced to fess up to Sonny!

Now What?

A lot going on in the Will-Sonny-Paul-Derrick storyline with Paul and Derrick’s first night together, sadly, taking place off screen after their kiss in the park. But at least we get to see them clad in only towels when Kate drops by with work documents. Paul seems to not want Sonny to find out but too late for that with Kate chomping on the bit to blab. Sonny is trying to act like it doesn’t bother him – but his expressive eyes tell a different story.

Give it a rest Kate! How many times do we have to hear her tell Paul to stay away from Sonny and Will’s marriage. Trust me grandma, it ain’t worth saving! Some nice moments with Paul and John today and Paul is going to start calling him ‘dad.’ But when Paul meets with Derrick later, things don’t go as well. Poor Derrick is damned cute but seems kind of dumb. He was prepped by Will with background material like Sarah Palin was for the vice presidential debate. Like a certain pit bull with lipstick, Derrick could not quite pull it off and Paul figures out quickly there’s no way he would know what he knows about Paul without Will’s background material.

The whole gay triangle is ending with a fizzle. Sonny is going to leave town and both Will and Paul behind.

Will has become such an annoying character. Hopefully he will become less pathetic without having to play all insecure about Sonny and Will. Paul, meanwhile, will be able to grow as a gay man without being haunted by his ex.

With Sonny SOON gone, will Horita hit the sheets, because where is hate, there is Heat and Passion? STAY TUNED

(GAY DAYS) Will has an ulterior motive; The Foursome encounter homophobes on double date; Sonny is Jealous of Derrick and Paul!

Will has cooked up a plan to get Paul and Derrick together so they can get involved and Paul will forget all about Sonny.

Not gonna work Will but if Derrick’s shirt comes off for a few episodes, No Complaints Here!

So Will’s plan to get Paul and Derrick together begins to take shape and he and Sonny join this new pair for an awkward double date at Rafe’s club. We find out that Derrick’s family has shunned him since he came out and Will pours it on thick about how happy he and Sonny are. It’s gross and he comes off so creepy. Then there are a couple of homophobic idiots who come up to the table.

The double date is thwarted by some homophobe jerks and a fight ensues. It’s over-the-tops stuff and Derrick takes a punch. It’s moving to see John’s concern over his son nd that Paul is now calling him ‘dad.’ Later, Paul and Derrick get closer and, of course, Sonny sees and seems jealous.STAY TUNED!

(GAY DAYS) Paul is finding plenty of reasons to stay in Salem; Will continues to lamely scheme to keep his husband!

Paul says to Sonny : ‘I have this whole new family and I kind of like them.’

So between a new dad, brother and nephew (baby Tate), Paul also has the job offer from Kate – all reasons to stay in Salem that don’t involve Sonny.

‘I have things here that I never imagined having … i want to stay here and I want to get to know this family that’s been dropped in my lap,’ he tells Sonny who looks at him with loving eyes.

For now, Sonny is sticking to his ‘but I’m married’ routine which no one believes and which is tough to buy anymore with Will having become pathetic, dishonest and ridiculous.

Paul makes clear he believes he and Sonny belong together and he will never give up on that.


Even Will’s scheming grandmother Kate is incredulous that Will wants to bribe their marriage counselor with a favorable magazine profile so that the dude will side with Will in counseling sessions and convince Sonny to stay in marriage. Where there is a Will....!

(GAY DAYS) Sonny AND Paul Get Closer; Paul gets a tempting job offer from Will’s gramdma Kate – Will freaks out!

Oh Grandma, Please Save My Marriage!

Sonny runs into Paul in the park and wants to tell Paul about his admitting Will that he still loves Paul but Paul is regaining his sense of self and doesn’t want to be toyed with by his ex.

Meanwhile, a good scene with Will and grandma Marlena who can see through Will’s lies and can see his desperation regarding Sonny. Also good father-son bonding between Paul and John.

Then at Ari’s party, Will annoys Sonny when he kisses him on the cheek during a family portrait because Sonny felt Will was putting on a show for the benefit of family.

It’s clear by now that Sonny and Will are at different levels when it comes to emotional maturity and it makes their interactions increasingly painful to watch. Will, of course, is trying to fast-forward through marriage counseling with his hand=picked doctor who focuses on moving forward rather than examining what got them to where they are. Sonny can see right through it because, well, he has a brain.


Through gritted teeth, Kate offers Paul a job as the new spokesman for a line of men’s products at Mad World. Will finds out and freaks out, of course. Meanwhile, Will is doing some kooky things regarding the marital counseling – not sure what he’s trying to accomplish.

(GAY DAYS) Will flakes on going to marriage counselor and Asks Sonny if he loves Paul?

Sonny, You Want Paul back too?

Sonny goes to Paul's Hotel Suite and Paul is Shirtless. They Kiss! (Oops, it's only Paul's Fantasy)

Meanwhile, Will flakes out on seeing a marriage counselor with Sonny saying he had a meeting with his editor.

Later, Will admits he was afraid that a counselor would just point out his shortcomings and make Sonny wonder why he as ever with him in the first place.

Will asks Sonny point blank if he still loves Paul.Sonny cannot lie. He does have Feelings, but Past Feelings.

Later Sonny runs into Paul and Sonny gives him those “I still love you eyes” without admitting it.

(GAY DAYS) Paul’s mom confirms John is his father; Sonny disgusted with Will’s many lies; Marlena calls Will a Mama's Boy!

Is Whiny Will turning into his Mom, Sniveling Sami? 

John and Paul get it confirmed that they are father and son. Paul’s mom explains why she never told either one of them. Also in this episode is a new low point for the character of Will Horton who has become a complete liar and a real idiot. Where are they going with Will? Why on Earth would Sonny even want to stay married to Sami Jr. at this point?

I love how a disgusted Sonny says at one point to Will: ‘Are you EVER going to stop lying to me?’

 Will’s lies and choices are all biting him in the ass right now with Sonny barely able to stand looking at him and Marlena sharing some hard truths.

As Will sputters his latest nonsense and blame, his grandmother nails it on the head for all of us when she says: ‘Don’t make me sit here and watch you turn into your mother.’

When Sonny and Will are finally face to face, he says to the Will imposter: ‘I have never been this mad at anyone in my entire life.’ On a nicer note, John and Sonny have a nice chat about Paul and it’s clear how much regard Sonny still has for him – how much love.Let’s hope they find a way back to each other. (GAY DAYS) It’s touch and go for Sonny; Paul almost catches Will at Sonny's Bedside!

Will the truth be worse than getting stabbed in the back?

 Such a dramatic week – and there’s more to come. I’m not going to give away Sonny’s fate but just know there’s a shortage of his blood type and surgeons are unable to find the source of the bleeding. Paul gives blood then later finds out the stabbing victim he donated it for is Sonny. Will Visits Sonny's Bedside, while Paul is about ready to go in. Will Paul discover his Lover is really his Ex's Husband? STAY TUNED!

(GAY DAYS) Pure Drama: Sonny Fights for his Life; Will Prays; Paul Donates Blood!

Poor Sonny! His husband cheating, his business struggling and now he gets stabbed. Not only that but his assailant then pours cocaine into his wound. To send a Message to Sonny's Mobster Uncle Victor!

Adding to the horror of it is the hospital does not have enough of Sonny’s type of blood so they call Paul who just happens to be the same blood type. Really!

Meanwhile, cheating Will is praying in the chapel for Sonny’s life to be spared.

(GAY DAYS) Paul tells Sonny he still loves him then comes out to his mom; Sonny finds OUT about Paul and Will's Affair and Gets Attacked!

Big day for Paul. He has his most emotional meeting with Sonny yet as he tells Sonny how much he regrets losing him and that he will always love him. It’s a poignant scene and one of several in this Paul-centric episode.He then takes a call from his mom and very emotionally comes out as gay to her and then his grandfather.

(GAY DAYS) OMG! Will and Paul Hit the Sheets; Will Sonny Find OUT?

Paul finds out that Sonny came to visit him on New Year’s Eve and takes it as there still being some feelings there on Sonny’s part. He tells his ex, once again, that he still thinks they could have a future together.

Paul knows Sonny is married but he does not know he is married to Will who shows up at the Salem Inn for one more chat for his article.

He ends up asking Paul if he’s ......Lonely? Then Will asks, Are You Gay? Paul Asks Will, Are You Gay? and then Will says, Yes I am. Then Paul does the Unthinkable.....

(Gay DAYS) Wilson Make Love; Nick walks in and blackmails Will to give up the baby!

They say a crisis brings people together and Will certainly has one on his hands. His crazy mom Sami, never more infuriating, badgers Gabi about a paternity test to the point that she is rushed to the hospital with possible premature labor.

Will is devastated but is happy and relieved to see Sonny walk into the hospital. Once the crisis ends, they head back to the coffee house where Sonny gets snoopy and finds the card Will had meant to give him on Valentine’s Day before hot Brian showed up.

I kind of wanted to see Sonny date a little more of Brian before finding his way back to our Will.

But these two are awfully sweet together and with the baby battle ahead, it will be good to have them as a solid unit.

Will completely comes clean with Sonny about everything – including shooting EJ apparently.

(GAY DAYS) Will and his dad Lucas fall right into Nick’s blackmail plot!

 

This Week on GAY DAYS: Uh boy, you had to figure that Will trying to shoot former stepdad EJ was going to come back to haunt him.

His dad, Lucas, went to prison for Will’s deed and not only has Nick figured it out, he finds a way to tape them talking about it.

FYI...Nick was sent to Prison for actual Murder!

(GAY DAYS) Future step-daddy Nick goes online to find out about bio-daddy Will’s secret past!

Nick is feeling like all of Salem is against he and Gabi getting married and having a life together.

Rafe talks them into not getting married right away and Nick’s new boss, Will’s grandma Kate, tells him he will be on a short leash at work.

Despite Will convincing Kate not to fire Nick outright and his hoping the three of them can co-exist as co-parents, Nick still seems determined to knock our Will out of the picture.

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Somebody out there knows Nick is not the baby daddy!

 

You just know that the shit is about to hit the fan in Salem when it comes to the true paternity of Gabi’s baby.

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Will has a nightmare that has him wondering if he can keep denying his child

 

Will has a nightmare involving Nick, Gabi and his unborn son.

When he talks to Gabi about feeling squeezed out of the kid’s life, she pretty much confirms to him that that is the way it’s going to be.

That has our Will realizing that he might not be able to follow through with the plan to let Nick claim his and Gabi’s baby as his own.

‘Every day this baby gets more and more real to me,’ he tells Gabi. ‘Every day it gets worse for me. … Do you think you could watch your own child growing up and not have any feelings about it?’

Meanwhile, Nick is being pretty cocky and obnoxious as he negotiates a job with Will’s grandma Kate.

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Finally a Will and EJ scene!

 

Will Horton and EJ DiMera have been in the thick of things but not shared any screen time.

That changed Thursday when the former employee and employer and former stepson and stepfather finally ran into each other in Salem Town Square (where else?) and caught up a bit.

There are those of us, of course, who think Will and EJ have more chemistry than Will and Sonny. I just love the way EJ says: “William …” Still hoping for that Romp!

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Will tells Nick he’s the father of Gabi’s baby!

 

Nick knows he’s not the daddy of Gabi’s baby so he assumes Chad must be. But Will steps up and tells him the truth.

Now Nick takes control of the situation. He doesn’t want to tell anyone that Will is the father and for now, Will and Gabi go along with it.
