Apple CEO Tim Cook tops this years’ Annual Power 50 list unveiled today by Out Magazine.
The list ranks the most influential LGBT voices in American culture and looks at how the on the list have power, how they wield it, and who it affects.
Cook, second last year, is the only openly gay CEO in the Fortune 500. He knocked Ellen DeGeneres down one space after the talk show host headed last year’s list.
Also in the top five are MSNBC personality Rachel Maddow, US Senator Tammy Baldwin and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.
Emmy nominee (and Outview pal) Laverne Cox, who appeared on the cover of Time Magazine last year, was number nine and became the first transgender person to finish in the top 10 in the history of the list.
Also in the top 10: Human Rights Campaign President Chad Griffin and Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen who is producer of the Real Housewives franchise.
New to the list, astonishingly, is legendary activist and author Larry Kramer who came in at number 33.
