(MY VIEW) I Know, Not I Do!
"Let's have a moratorium on marriage," I suggested to my boyfriend. We were in bed in my bedroom, the only room in my apartment with real air conditioning, and we weren't touching. It was hot, still, even with air conditioning; the heat wave was expected to break any day.
Not that he and I are or ever were engaged. But at some point, past the getting-to-know-you point but before the we-may-as-well-make-this-official point, someone brings up marriage, in cute ways, usually: suggestions for possible honeymoon locations or who will perform at the ceremony, or laments that your parents will never get a chance to meet unless you get married, or any number of ways you tiptoe around the idea of forever-and-always without using the words "forever" and "always." The idea of marriage phases into the reality of marriage.

The last time I was handed the book in Salt Lake City by Marian, one of my hosts there, I wasn’t quite ready to read Steve’s account of everything. Pat and Lynn – you’re Ryan was a beautiful man. I kept smiling every time Steve talked about the way Ryan lit up a room. That’s what I remember the most about Ryan from our brief encounter. That smile. What a gift to the world.
If you haven’t yet read this book, I strongly urge everyone to do so.

(OUTscene NW) RE-view: Legendary Neil Diamond Plays the KEY and is "So Good, So Good, So Good"!
This past year, I have covered some of the best Singer/Songwriters from the world of POP. From Melissa Manchester to most recently, Paul Williams. The heyday was the 1960's and 70's, but there is one that is truly the King and Packs arenas every time.
Take a little Sinatra, add the admiration and charm of Elvis plus the symbolism of Jimmy Buffet you get the longevity of Neil Diamond (Every song written by him).
Diamond, (71, but looks and acts like he is 51) performed this past Monday at Seattle's Key Arena. It was a sell out for a performer in the business for over 50 Years.

Here’s an excerpt from Michael Fairman’s article: Now that Will has come out, the next step is to find romance, of course! After testing the waters, Chandler indicates that this summer and into the fall, fans can expect Will and Sonny to become much closer. “It looks that way. I think it’s going to be something that hopefully the viewers have wanted to see. If I could give them that, that would be great. I am outspoken about how much I like the platonic friendship of Will and Sonny because I thought it was fresh. Regardless of how I feel about that, I am still going to play that to the best of my ability.”
The other onscreen duo that has been tantalizing viewers is the twisted relationship between the dashing EJ (James Scott) and Will, where many have joked it’s more like … master/slave!
Chandler reveals it may not be continuing. “All good things have to come to an end. I can’t help but hold back a smile, and sometimes I don’t when I work with James. I think it’s hands-down my favorite relationship that Will has. When James is in a scene, his focus is on you. That is how people are in real life; they want to get something from you. How many people aren’t afraid to do whatever it takes to do what they want? That is what makes EJ so attractive to Will. I also like Will edgier, too. It is more fun to play.”

In case you're living in a cave and missed it, the June 29 issue of Entertainment Weekly had a very provocative cover on, "The New Art of Coming Out," featuring pictures of eight out celebrities. It generated huge buzz and was part of the impetus for journalist Anderson Cooper and rapper Frank Ocean to come out publicly with a resounding chorus of support.
Using phrases like "casual methods," "matter-of-fact-understatement," "blink-and-you'll-miss-it-style," and "defiantly mellow," the issue celebrated the low-key way many celebrities have chosen to announce their sexual orientation.
(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Will tries to assure his dad that he has upper hand with EJ!
Lucas turns to Will’s grandma Marlena and her husband John for help.
Meanwhile, Will defends EJ to his mother who is flying off the handle.
There’s also growing suspicion that EJ killed his father which we know is not true but will continue to play out because he is clearly being framed.
I say we clear EJ, he and Will have a big showdown then give in to their obvious attraction to each other.

Showtime's "Homeland," a newcomer to the Emmys, shook up a few races with its nominations for Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor and Lead Actress. Meanwhile, "Downton Abbey" entered the Drama Series category instead of the Miniseries/Movie race and scored nominations for Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor and Lead Actress, as well as two nominations each in the Supporting Actress and two Supporting Actor categories -- a total of seven nods in all.
HBO's "Girls" picked up Emmy nominations in the main Comedy Series category, and series creator Lena Dunham earned a nod for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

(JESSE on the BRINK) Surviving My Birthday!
Nothing will surpass last year's birthday where I was raped and killed (not in that order) on the set of Into the Lion's Den. But this year came close in the mortal wound department. I've been accused of whooshing into town only to exhaust my friends, but they knew I was coming. I told them to hide the booze and take their naps!
CoolDan threw my party at his East Village place, and it was just like old times. So happy to see everyone again and pics forthcoming. Despite the mass of candles on the cake we didn't burn the place down because as they sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY, the air conditioner blew all the candles out!
