TRANS-LATE: Girl Scout Calls for Boycott of Cookies Because Organization Welcomes Transgender Kids!

A 14-year-old Girl Scout named Taylor is calling for a boycott of Girl Scout Cookies because the organization welcomes transgender children, World Net Daily reports.

Says Taylor, in a YouTube video: “The real question is, why is GSUSA willing to break their own safety rules and go against its own research institute findings to accommodate transgender boys? Unfortunately, I think it is because GSUSA cares more about promoting the desires of a small handful of people than it does for my safety and the safety of my friends and sister Girl Scouts, and they are doing it with money we earned for them from Girl Scout cookies.”

The Girl Scouts of America's inclusive policy made headlines last fall when a Colorado troop refused (and later reversed) admittance to Bobby Montoya, a transgender 7-year-old.

WORKING YET? ABC Chief Doesn't 'Get' Anger Over Cross-Dressing Comedy 'Work It'!

ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee doesn't "get" why LGBT groups are calling for the cancelation of the network's cross-dressing comedy Work It:"In terms of the lesbian and gay community, we're incredibly proud of the work that ABC does," he told TheWrap. "That's not just 'Modern Family,' it's 'Grey's Anatomy,' it's 'Private Practice,' it's 'Dancing With the Stars.' But in that particular case... I didn't really get it. I love 'Tootsie.'

... I still love 'Tootsie.' I don't find it to be offensive. So in that particular case I didn't get it."

KICK ASS: Trans Woman Beats Subway Rider for Calling Her a Man!

A video posted to YouTube shows a trans woman pursuing and then kicking and beating a man after he reportedly made a remark about her gender.

Writes the uploader of the video, titled 'TOSSED LIKE A RAG DOLL FOR TRYING IT!!!': "Morning after xmas on the nyc subway train, me and my girlfriends was walking to the train, dude shouted out 'thats a man' to my home girl and this is what happens when u disrespect a tranny in public".

Writes blogger TransGriot: "How many times have I warned you cispeople not to frack with transpeople?  It's not a good idea to get someone pissed off at you who not only has a little more strength than the average cis female, but is an estrogen based lifeform to boot. You also don't know how much bull feces that transperson may have gone through just trying to get through her day. Your attempt to make fun of them or disrespect them to prop up your own flagging self esteem may be the last straw that sets the transperson off and the next thing you know they're either reading you like a cheap novel, pulling out a can of whoop ass with your name on it or are doing both at the same time..."

WHO KNEW? Lance Bass Apologizes for Not Getting the 'Tranny' Memo!

In a segment on Access Hollywood Live featuring 'On-the-Street' comic Billy Eichner, Lance Bass suggested Eichner visit a certain part of the West Village for some of his ambushes: "So you need to go to Christopher and Hudson and get those trannies on the corner there. That would be perfect."

Eichner corrected Bass, "We’re not supposed to call them trannies anymore."
Bass, noting that he might be in trouble for using the term, added, “I didn’t get the memo.”
Tweeted Bass yesterday: "You think ONE of my MANY transvestite friends would have told me "tranny" is a bad word now! They only call themselves that - I'm sorry if I offended anyone by using that word! #justbeeneduacated"

BOYCOTT: GLAAD and HRC ratchet up pressure on ABC not to air “Work It”!

 

It’s been said that any publicity is good publicity but I’m not so sure that’s the case with the growing controversy over the ABC sitcom Work It.

GLAAD and the Human Rights Campaign have stepped-up pressure on the network to yank the sitcom about two men who decide to impersonate women to land jobs in pharmaceutical sales.

It is scheduled to premiere on Jan. 3.

TRANS FLIGHT: PC Air To Employ 'Third-Gendered' Flight Attendants!

PC Airways is about to become the first Thai airline to employ "ladyboys" as flight attendants. From The Bangkok Post: PC Air is due to commence its maiden commercial service, a charter flight for a tour group from Bangkok to Vientiane on Dec 24, and plans to inaugurate flights to two Chinese cities on a charter basis on Jan 23 next year.

The launch comes after a nine-month delay, which company reps said was occasioned by a desire to cash in on the glut of people traveling during the holiday season, rather than any financial shortfall. (To demonstrate his confidence in the airline's prospects, PC Air's sole proprietor, Peter Chan, elected not to lease the company's first airplane, an Airbus 310-222, and instead bought it outright for 1 billion Thai baht.)

ABC News reports on some unique twin siblings: Wyatt always liked girl's clothes and movies, while his twin brother Jonas played with traditional boy toys.

Born identical twins, the siblings share the same DNA, but their gender identification took divergent paths. Now, at age 14, they are brother and sister, as Wyatt's transition to Nicole is well under way.

PUSH-UP: Male Model Stars in Bra Ads!

The "woman" modeling a push-up bra for Dutch department store Hema is actually a man: androgynous model Andrej Pejic. Pejic, 20, is a good choice if you want to boast how effective your "mega" push-up bras are, considering he has no breasts to speak of. The gender-bending model—who does model menswear, too—was also featured in a wedding dress in a Gaultier show this year, AFP notes. "Pejic looks very pretty in the pictures," writes Alex Rees in New York, but is this truly a good message to send to young women, who are already pushed to be super-skinny? The campaign, Rees concludes, "seems certain to foster a new round of opinion pieces about how lazy (and often, gay male) fashion designers only want to design women's clothing for boy-ish frames."

JUSTICE: Federal Court Rules Georgia General Assembly Engaged in Discrimination in Firing of Trans Editor

The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled yesterday in favor of Vandy Beth Glenn, a transgender proofreader at the Georgia General Assembly who was fired after she made her intentions to transition from male to female known to her employer, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports: Glenn was hired at the Office of Legislative Counsel in 2005 when she was a man named Glenn Morrison. That year, she was diagnosed with gender identity disorder, and her doctors recommended a gender transition for her health and well-being.

Glenn began living outside work as a woman, underwent electrolysis and had surgeries to lift her brow and narrow her jaw line. In October 2007, she told her supervisor she was going to begin coming to work as a woman. Sewell Brumby, who at the time headed the office, then asked Glenn whether she fully intended to become a woman. When Glenn said she did, Brumby fired her.

Being Chaz, the follow-up to the acclaimed documentary Becoming Chaz, will premiere tonight on OWN. In it, Chaz Bono proposes to his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Elia and presents her with a diamond ring.

 

The documentary chronicles Bono’s relationship with his girlfriend after transitioning from his female-to-male sex change. It also features his casting on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars and the controversy which occurred after he was announced as a contestant.

At one point, Elia says tearfully: “People feel so angry that Chaz is entering their television. People who make change get shot, and I don’t think that’s worth it. This is insane. It’s not worth doing a show if you’re going to get shot. I don’t want him to die for a cause.”

November 20 is the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance. Vigils and events take place each year on this day to raise awareness for full civil rights and social equality for the living, while remembering the hundreds of trans folks who are murdered and the countless others who take their own lives. Until we are fully equal under the laws, our neighbors will continue to treat us like shit. Yearn for FULL EQUALITY – then – FIGHT FOR FULL EQUALITY!

RIP our dear family members who we’ve lost because people don’t understand the beauty – and natural existence of folks who are transgender.

TRANS-FERED: Colorado Transgender suspended for Using Girl's Bathroom!

Dionne Malikowski, a transgender student at Fort Collins High School in Colorado who was suspended for three days about a month ago because she used the girl's bathroom (Dionne identifies as female), is leaving the school, 7News reports: "The day that I used the girls' bathroom, I was in a hurry because I really had to go," Dionne explained.

"All the students at Fort Collins High School have access to restrooms," said Danielle Clark, spokeswoman for the Poudre School District. But there are rules about which restrooms Dionne can use -- and she can only use the staff restrooms.

"When those disruptions happen, it can cause safety issues to come into play," Clark said.

"I don't think I'm going to get harassed in the female bathroom. I think it would be more of a safety issue if I was using the male's bathroom," Dionne argued.

STATEMENT: Tennessee Trans Woman Goes Topless in Protest!

Andrea Jones was arrested in the parking lot of the the Morristown, Tennessee DMV after removing her shirt in protest after the agency refused to change the gender on her driver's license from 'male' to 'female'. NEver mind that the change had already been made by the Social Security office.

"It's not right for the state to ask me to be both male and female. A choice needs to be made. They cannot hold me to both standards," Jones said.

GRIM: Burned Torso Identified as That of Missing Transgender Detroit Teen!

A burned torso left near a freeway in Detroit has been identified, the Detroit Free Press reports: Henry Hilliard Jr., 19, also known as Shelley or Treasure, was last seen at 1:20 a.m. on Oct. 23 in the 900 block of Longfellow, wearing a silver dress. The 19-year-old had several piercings and tattoos, including one of cherries on the upper right arm.

Chief Investigator Albert Samuels of the Medical Examiner's office was able to connect the cherry tattoo to the information provided by police to make a match, said spokesman Dennis Niemiec.

Police said they're investigating Hilliard's death as a homicide.

Hilliard went missing on October 23: A cab driver that Hilliard often used for rides dropped Hilliard off at a home where three men were waiting for her, his mother, Lyniece Nelson, said today.

But Hilliard immediately called the driver back, voicing concern about the situation, Nelson said.

The driver "started to hear her say, 'What are you doing,' then scream out loud 'No,' then her phone dropped, a few muffling noises, then the phone went dead," Nelson said. "By the time he got back around the corner, there was no one in sight."

BOMBED: Dan Savage Reportedly Glitterbombed by Trans Activists!

Trans activists glitterbombed Dan Savage at an appearance in Oregon: Dan Savage is a transphobic and generally oppressive rich white cis gay man who came to Eugene, OR on Halloween weekend. The Dan Savage Welcoming Committee let him know that he can't be a douche with impunity.

On November 1st, 2011, an operative of the Dan Savage Welcoming Committee (DSWM) glitterbombed Dan while he was giving a Q&A at the University of Nike's Ford Alumni Center in Eugene, Oregon. During this session, the operative leapt to the stage and poured glitter over Dan's head as they shouted, "Dan Savage is a transphobe!" As they turned tail, they added, "Glitterbomb courtesy of the Dan Savage Welcoming Committee," and just before they got out the door, "He's a racist and misogynist and a rape-apologist, too!" The operative then fled the scene.

TRANS-FER: California Nursing School Expels Transgender Student for 'Fraud'!

A participant in MTV's reality show True Life has been expelled from a Baptist nursing school after officials discovered she is transgender: Domaine Javier, 24, said university officials told her she was expelled for falsely claiming on her application form that she is a female. Javier revealed on MTV’s “True Life” that she is biologically male. Letters the university sent to Javier say she was expelled for “committing or attempting to engage in fraud, or concealing identity,” and for presenting false or misleading information in university judicial processes.

Javier, 24, said she has identified herself as female since she was a toddler and correctly clicked the space next to “female” on the online application form.

California schools cannot discriminate on the basis of gender identity, unless they are private, as is the case with Cal Baptist.

“I didn’t know they were that extreme," said Javier.

BANNED: Denver Girl Scouts Says 'No' to Transgender 7-Year-Old!

Bobby Montoya is a 7-year-old who identifies as a girl. Her family accepts Bobby's gender identity but the local Girl Scout troop turned down the family's request that Bobby be able to join, despite the inclusive policy of the Girl Scouts of Colorado, 9 News reports: "It's hurting my heart," Bobby said. "It hurts me and my mom both."

Recently, Archuleta wanted to sign Bobby up for Girl Scouts. His older sister did it, and Bobby really wanted to join. Archuleta told 9NEWS when she brought Bobby to register, a troop leader told her Bobby couldn't join.
