According to a Men’s Health survey, Indianapolis, Ind., is the most sexually satisfied city in the country.

The men’s magazine factored in condom sales, birth rates and sales of sex toys in their decision to declare Indianapolis No. 1 on its best sex list – for the second time. (The city also held the top ranking in 2008.) “Every year, the field of drivers in the Indianapolis 500 burns through a ton of rubber, but then so do the locals — Indy’s condom sales are 16th highest in the country, according to A.C. Nielsen data,” the magazine wrote. In fact, the Midwesterners proved themselves a kinky bunch indeed, claiming six of the top 10 slots in all.

CROWNED: New Miss America is Miss Wisconsin!

Miss Wisconsin Laura Kaeppeler sang opera, wise-cracked, spoke candidly about being the child of a convct, and refused to get drawn into politics en route to grabbing the 2012 Miss America crown last night. Kaeppeler, when asked if beauty queens should bare their politics, responded: "Miss America represents everyone, so I think the message to political candidates is that they represent everyone as well. And so in these economic times, we need to be looking forward to what America needs, and I think Miss America needs to represent all." Kaeppeler beat out second-place Miss Oklahoma, Betty Thompson, and third-place Miss New York, Kaitlyn Monte, for the $50,000 scholarship, reports the AP. 

Her platform of mentoring the children of jailed parents came from her father's 18-month stint in prison for mail fraud. "It taught us that God can turn everything into good if you let him," said Jeff Kaeppeler after the contest. His daughter, 23, in introducing herself jokingly told the Green Bay Packers quarterback, "If you're watching, Aaron Rodgers, call me."

SARCASTIC: Gay Group 'Sorry' for Killing Lawmaker's Marriage, Really!

After a married Minnesota state senator was caught in an "inappropriate relationship" with a male staffer, she quit her post as majority leader. And because Amy Koch was a staunch opponent of gay marriage who had pushed to amend the state constitution toward that end, the local gay community is not exactly sympathetic, notes City Pages.

It issued an open letter to her with an apology—off the charts on the sarcasm scale—for ruining her marriage. "We apologize that our selfish requests to marry those we love has cheapened and degraded traditional marriage so much that we caused you to stray from your own holy union for something more cheap and tawdry," writes a gay group leader. "It is now clear to us that if we were not so self-focused and myopic, we would have been able to see that the time you wasted diligently writing legislation that would forever seal the definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman, could have been more usefully spent reshaping the legal definition of adultery.'" STAND OUT: Gay Man Calls Out Indiana Clark's Station For Homophobic Attendant!

This is horrible. A man in Bluffton, Indiana, recently visited a Clark's gas station to refill his pop (aka "soda" for those of you on the coasts) and was charged double simply because he's gay.


Not only was he charged double, but the man, named Josh, was called "faggot," among other choice words. When he called later to complain, he was turned away.

TRANS-FERED: Colorado Transgender suspended for Using Girl's Bathroom!

Dionne Malikowski, a transgender student at Fort Collins High School in Colorado who was suspended for three days about a month ago because she used the girl's bathroom (Dionne identifies as female), is leaving the school, 7News reports: "The day that I used the girls' bathroom, I was in a hurry because I really had to go," Dionne explained.

"All the students at Fort Collins High School have access to restrooms," said Danielle Clark, spokeswoman for the Poudre School District. But there are rules about which restrooms Dionne can use -- and she can only use the staff restrooms.

"When those disruptions happen, it can cause safety issues to come into play," Clark said.

"I don't think I'm going to get harassed in the female bathroom. I think it would be more of a safety issue if I was using the male's bathroom," Dionne argued.

STATEMENT: Tennessee Trans Woman Goes Topless in Protest!

Andrea Jones was arrested in the parking lot of the the Morristown, Tennessee DMV after removing her shirt in protest after the agency refused to change the gender on her driver's license from 'male' to 'female'. NEver mind that the change had already been made by the Social Security office.

"It's not right for the state to ask me to be both male and female. A choice needs to be made. They cannot hold me to both standards," Jones said.

NOT SWEET: Iowa Baker Refuses to Create Wedding Cake for Lesbian Couple, Cites Her Christian Beliefs

Lesbian couple Trina Vodraska and Janelle Sievers went to Victoria Childress for their wedding cake. At a taste-testing appointment they were told that she wouldn't do it for them because it conflicts with ther Christian beliefs.

Said Childress: "I didn't do the cake because of my convictions for their lifestyle. It is my right as a business owner. It is my right, and it's not to discriminate against them. It's not so much to do with them, it's to do with me and my walk with God and what I will answer (to) him for."

The couple says it was degrading: "It was like she chastised us for wanting to do business with her. I know Jesus loves me. I didn't need her to tell me that. I didn't go there for that. I just wanted to go there for a cake."

GRIM: Burned Torso Identified as That of Missing Transgender Detroit Teen!

A burned torso left near a freeway in Detroit has been identified, the Detroit Free Press reports: Henry Hilliard Jr., 19, also known as Shelley or Treasure, was last seen at 1:20 a.m. on Oct. 23 in the 900 block of Longfellow, wearing a silver dress. The 19-year-old had several piercings and tattoos, including one of cherries on the upper right arm.

Chief Investigator Albert Samuels of the Medical Examiner's office was able to connect the cherry tattoo to the information provided by police to make a match, said spokesman Dennis Niemiec.

Police said they're investigating Hilliard's death as a homicide.

Hilliard went missing on October 23: A cab driver that Hilliard often used for rides dropped Hilliard off at a home where three men were waiting for her, his mother, Lyniece Nelson, said today.

But Hilliard immediately called the driver back, voicing concern about the situation, Nelson said.

The driver "started to hear her say, 'What are you doing,' then scream out loud 'No,' then her phone dropped, a few muffling noises, then the phone went dead," Nelson said. "By the time he got back around the corner, there was no one in sight."

PRETTY: Tennessee Principal Suspends Gay Teen for Wearing Make-Up!

Lexington High School Principal Steve Lindsey suspended gay student Kasey Landrum for wearing make-up, and now Landrum and his mother are speaking out, WBBJ reports:
"I'm very upset about it because he can't be who he wants to be," said Shelly Maness, Kasey Landrum's mother. "When I went to register him, about the make-up, he (Lindsey) reminded us Kasey was not to be wearing any," she adds.

The suspension form obtained by Maness cited her son was suspended on the basis he violated the school's dress code which states: "When a student is attired in a manner, which is likely to cause disruption or interference with normal operation of the school, the administration will take the appropriate action. In matters of opinion, the judgment of the teachers and administrators will prevail." 

JUSTICE: High School Gay Basher In Chillicothe May Receive Harsher Punishment

New news from Unioto High School in Chillicothe, OH, where an alleged gay bashing was recorded on a cell-phone camera.


As reported on Thursday: A student at Union-Scioto High School ... was brutally beaten this week by another student for being gay. Class members watched as the bully waited for the student to arrive in the classroom, grabbed him, pushed him to the ground and punched him in the face several times.

Originally, the incident earned the bully a mere three-day suspension, even though the victim sustained dental damage and a possible concussion. Now that the video of the beating has gone viral, Unioto principal Jim Osborne says the penalty may change. "The discipline has been revisited based on the ongoing investigation and in light of the new evidence," Osborne told the Chillicothe Gazette. 

PROOF: Brutal Assault of Gay High School Student by Bully Caught on Tape!

A gay student at Union-Scioto High School in Chillicothe, Ohio was brutally beaten this week by another student for being gay. Class members watched as the bully waited for the student to arrive in the classroom, grabbed him, pushed him to the ground and punched him in the face.

Another student recorded the assault on his cell phone. The video was posted to Facebook.
The bully had harassed the gay student (who has not been identified) on Facebook a few days earlier, writing "You fag. Check out the definition of a fag."

WELCOME: Tennessee School Allows Students to Wear Gay-Supportive T-Shirts Following Assault of Student by Principal!

Today, the ACLU reports that students will now be allowed to wear the T-shirts: The Monroe County Board of Education agreed yesterday to allow students to wear T-shirts in support of the formation of a gay-straight alliance (GSA) at the school. The board will also review its dress code to ensure that students’ rights to free speech are protected. The American Civil Liberties Union and the ACLU of Tennessee demanded that the board revise its policies after Sequoyah High School student Chris Sigler was reportedly harassed by students and staff for wearing a T-shirt supporting a GSA...

...“While it’s encouraging that the school district has vowed to review its dress code, Sequoyah High School still lacks a safe place where LGBT students and their peers can gather to support each other,” said Amanda Goad, staff attorney with the ACLU LGBT Project. “The events of the last few weeks show that the need for a GSA is greater than ever, and that the school needs to take seriously its obligation to protect all students from harassment and bullying.”

SHOCKER: Father Allegedly Tortured Son to Make Him Straight!

A college student says his father tortured him after he came out at age 12. Pink News reports: Samuel Brinton, a student at Kansas State University, said his Southern Baptist missionary father beat him, burned him and shocked him with electric currents.

He said his family, who lived on a missionary base in Iowa, first realised he was gay at the age of 12, when he told his father that he felt more strongly about his male best friend than models in Playboy magazine.

According to Brinton, his father told him that he had AIDS and that the government was hunting down gay children. Then he allegedly subjected his son to homemade conversion therapy. It was unimaginably brutal: He said he was beaten badly by his father to the point of being hospitalised six times, although doctors were told that he had fallen down the stairs.

Remember Kameryn Gibson? He's the broke 18-year-old from Indiana who posted a Craigslist ad soliciting "sugga daddies," and somehow landed himself a towel-draped Republican pol of such overwhelming skeeziness that, when it came time to do the deed, Mr. Gibson couldn't perform. On Top Magazine reports that Mr. Gibson is now performing for two gay porn studios, CocoDorm and ThugBoy, under the name of DeJuan Diamond. According to the mag, Gibson's talent agency, Flava Works, has released a statement which reads, in part: It is no secret that many Republicans are closet homosexuals, while at the same time preaching anti-gay messages and protesting gay marriage. Now with DeJuan Diamond starring online ... Republicans will be able to enjoy the men they love right from the comfort of their home or offices.

G-BOMB: Karl Rove, Anti-Gay Congressman Glitter-Bombed at Minnesota Conference!

There's a great debate to be had over the ethics and efficacy of glitter-bombing. But what bothers me about the latest glitzing is that it appears to have missed its mark, Karl Rove, as he signed books at the Faith and Freedom Coalition's conference in Minnesota. Maybe I'm wrong, but by the end he looks disappointingly not glittery.

A separate bombing of Congressman Erik Paulsen, as he accepted the Friend of the Family award for his efforts to put an amendment banning same-sex marriage in the state constitution, seems to have hit the target - but it's hard to tell.

BOOTED: Lesbian Couple Says the Four Seasons Hotel Kicked Them Out for Kissing!

Teresa Folds and Julieigh Snell were kissing in the Jacuzzi at the rooftop pool at the Four Seasons in St. Louis when they were asked to leave because of their PDA, told that the hotel does not allow behavior like theirs by any couple, and " insinuated that [they] were not a normal couple," Folds tells KSDK.

The hotel released a statement: "Four Seasons respects the behaviors of our guests, except where doing so may be a breach of law or create tensions among people. This was the case on the night in question, as our staff received several complaints about the guest's behavior. I can assure you that the gender of the couple was never at issue."

TARGET: Tennessee High School Principal Assaults Student Over Gay T-Shirt!

The principal of Sequoyah High School in Tennessee assaulted a A 17-year-old senior after he wore a T-shirt to school expressing support for a Gay-Straight Alliance, the ACLU of Tennessee reports: Sigler wore a homemade T-shirt to school last Tuesday that said “GSA: We’ve Got Your Back.” A teacher ordered Sigler to cover up the shirt in the future. Sigler, knowing he had a right to wear the shirt, wore it again Friday, and resisted an order to remove the shirt. Sigler says that Moser then ordered all students out of the classroom, except for Sigler’s sister Jessica, who refused to leave. According to both students, Moser then grabbed Sigler’s arm, shoved him, and chest-bumped him repeatedly while asking “Who’s the big man now?” Sigler’s mother reported that when she arrived at the school, she saw her son seated in a desk with Moser leaning over him and shouting in Sigler’s face. The Siglers filed a report about the incident that afternoon with the Madisonville Police Department.

BANNED: Gay Tennessee Couple Assaulted by FAMILY!

Jerry Pittman Jr. and his partner Dustin Lee were assaulted last week when they tried to attend a church service at Grace Fellowship Church in Fruitland, Tennessee, according to reports.

Pittman Jr. says his father, who is the church's pastor, instructed two deacons and Pittman's uncle to attack the couple and physically prevent them from attending the church service.

WBBJ reports: "My uncle and two other deacons came over to the car per my dad's request. My uncle smash me in the door as the other deacon knocked my boyfriend back so he couldn't help me, punching him in his face and his chest. The other deacon came and hit me through my car window in my back," said Pittman. He said bystanders did not offer assistance. He said the deacon yelled derogatory homosexual slurs, even after officers arrived. He said the officers never intervened to stop the deacons from yelling the slurs.

The couple says they were not allowed to press charges at the time of the incident, either.

Assault charges have now been filed against Deacons Billy Sims and Eugene McCoy and Pittman Jr.'s  father and Deacon Patrick Flatt. All are scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
