Last Friday, the Supreme Court ruled that the Constitution protects marriage for everyone -- including same-sex couples. It is a decision we have been waiting decades for. And now, all our work is, well, actually, not quite done yet. Let's take a look at what the court just decided, and what comes next.

The day is now. Everyone has the right to wed whomever they so desire. We're sorry this says June 26th, but after we recorded it we got so riled up we celebrated to hard. Oops.

(GAY DAYS) Paul is finding plenty of reasons to stay in Salem; Will continues to lamely scheme to keep his husband!

Paul says to Sonny : ‘I have this whole new family and I kind of like them.’

So between a new dad, brother and nephew (baby Tate), Paul also has the job offer from Kate – all reasons to stay in Salem that don’t involve Sonny.

‘I have things here that I never imagined having … i want to stay here and I want to get to know this family that’s been dropped in my lap,’ he tells Sonny who looks at him with loving eyes.

For now, Sonny is sticking to his ‘but I’m married’ routine which no one believes and which is tough to buy anymore with Will having become pathetic, dishonest and ridiculous.

Paul makes clear he believes he and Sonny belong together and he will never give up on that.


Even Will’s scheming grandmother Kate is incredulous that Will wants to bribe their marriage counselor with a favorable magazine profile so that the dude will side with Will in counseling sessions and convince Sonny to stay in marriage. Where there is a Will....!

The marriage equality ruling is as big a victory as we could possibly have hoped for. Now's a good time for everyone to celebrate -- the ruling is a win-win for everyone. It's not like some couples won and other couples lost. What this decision means is that same-sex couples have the same right to marry as everyone else, and every else's right to marry isn't harmed at all. Everybody wins.

And now it has began, the long goodbye to the man that has been the visionary of the Seattle Men's Chorus for nearly 35 years, Dennis Coleman is retiring in ONE year, but the mood from this past weekend at the annual June Concert felt like the beginning of a bittersweet year. Queen, a band that was in its prime over 35 yrs ago was the appropriate theme. There is no bigger Seattle Queen than Coleman himself.

The Past Saturday, SMC performed a full QUEEN concert at Seattle's McCaw Hall and it was great for the most part thanks to local musical sensation, Frederick Hargreen as a Freddie impersonator. Hargreen just turned heads in 5th avenue's recent Jasper in Deadland and totally has the singing chops. The only drawback was Hargreen appeared during the Last song out of Eight Songs in Act 1. The songs prior especially Killer Queen, Bicycle Race and Play the game, the soloists (some consisted of season pros) struggled with the higher octave and sounded flat. The Highlight of Act 1 was the classic, We will Rock/Champions Medley and Killer Queen, when Queens from the Queen of Hearts to Frozen's Elsa to the ultimate Killer Queen, Divine from Pink Flamingos. Hargreen came out for the Act One finale in Mercury's infamous Black and white body suit singing, Don't Stop me Now.

Oh Grandma, Please Save My Marriage!

Sonny runs into Paul in the park and wants to tell Paul about his admitting Will that he still loves Paul but Paul is regaining his sense of self and doesn’t want to be toyed with by his ex.

Meanwhile, a good scene with Will and grandma Marlena who can see through Will’s lies and can see his desperation regarding Sonny. Also good father-son bonding between Paul and John.

Then at Ari’s party, Will annoys Sonny when he kisses him on the cheek during a family portrait because Sonny felt Will was putting on a show for the benefit of family.

It’s clear by now that Sonny and Will are at different levels when it comes to emotional maturity and it makes their interactions increasingly painful to watch. Will, of course, is trying to fast-forward through marriage counseling with his hand=picked doctor who focuses on moving forward rather than examining what got them to where they are. Sonny can see right through it because, well, he has a brain.


Through gritted teeth, Kate offers Paul a job as the new spokesman for a line of men’s products at Mad World. Will finds out and freaks out, of course. Meanwhile, Will is doing some kooky things regarding the marital counseling – not sure what he’s trying to accomplish.

When I first heard about ACT's new production of Threesome, I was curious especially since it was written by a Muslim and the 2 main characters are from Egypt and their mission is to have a Threesome. OK, a Rare Sex Comedy with Muslim twist? What we get is 2 Genres for the price of one. 

As the lights rise on Yussef  El Guindi's play at Seattle's ACT Theater, this past weekend, we see Rashid (Karan Oberoi), an Egyptian-American photographer, and his Girlfriend, Leila (Alia Attallah), a westernized Egyptian writer now living in America. Leila has written a book on Sexual Politics during the Egyptian Revolution, and so she pushes Rashid to go along with this experiment. A Threesome.

Soon they are joined by the somewhat annoying, American, Doug (Quinn Franzen), who is appropriately attired  (Full Frontal of course).. So Doug gets in the Middle of the Bed, with a still clothed, Leila, on one side as she forces Rashid to get into the other side with Doug. Rashid is clearly uncomfortable and slowly takes his shirt off and his boxers off and fold them neatly on the Night stand. Doug truly starts to initiate. But Rashid Panics and both are stunned that Doug has read the book and his the Publishing company's official Photographer to take the official cover of the book.
