WET: Sweaty Nike Shirts Weighing Barcelona Down?

Nike is selling a ton of its new specially-designed Barcelona kits (that’s uniforms for the Americans in the audience), but there’s one big problem: The team hates them. Why? Because the eco-friendly shirts, which are supposed to improve performance somehow, actually get so dang sweaty that the players feel weighed down by them, the Guardian reports. Players came back from their preseason US tour complaining the shirts “weighed a ton” and “stuck to the body like a limpet.” The problem hasn’t subsided since the start of the season.

Some frustrated players have even taking to weighing the shirts before, during, and after games. Their findings? By halftime the shirt, which usually clocks in at a little less than half a pound, has more than doubled in weight. Team officials met with Nike on Friday to air their grievances, and Nike says its product team is currently testing solutions.

NEXT GENERATION: Gay? No problem, say Spain’s young!

EIGHT out of 10 young Spaniards accept homosexuality, revealed the official social survey organisation CIS. Nor did political orientation affect the 1,411 participants aged between 15 and 19 who responded to CIS questions, as 71 per cent of potential conservative voters shared this view to Euro Weekly.

Despite this overall picture of a tolerant younger generation able to co-exist with sexual diversity the CIS survey also detected an ‘important deficiency inaffective-sexual education’.

It was important to be able to discuss sexual diversity openly, said 86per cent of those asked, while 81 per cent could accept sexual relations between men and 84 per cent between women.

Same-sex marriage was acceptable to 76 per cent and 74 per cent were in favour of operations for gender reassignment in adults. There was scant sympathy for the view that homosexuality was an illness, opposed by 86 per cent, while 81 per cent said that nothing would change if they learnt that their best friend was gay.

DANGEROUS LOVE: Nigerian Man Kills His Spanish LOVER after being exposed to HIV!

Twenty-one-year old Rafael Ikechukwu, on Thursday, said he did not regret killing his Spanish gay lover.

Mr Ikechukwu is being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, for allegedly slashing the throat of a middle aged Spanish man, Gafaru Anthony, who was in the country on the invitation of Mr Ikechukwu reports 234NEXT. Both men have been lovers for more than two years before the incident occurred on April 16. The relationship turned sour that day when the lovers had a fight at the Goti Gate Hotel at FESTAC town where they had planned to lodge for one week.

A quarrel reportedly ensued between the lovers after they retired to their room. Mr Ikechukwu allegedly overpowered Mr Anthony during the fight and slashed his throat with a broken bottle. Police officers from the Homicide Department at Panti, Yaba, were invited to the scene, and they arrested Mr Ikechukwu. The body of Mr Anthony was taken to the mortuary for autopsy.

LAW: Barcelona to Ban Public Nudity!

If you've ever had the urge to wander the streets of Barcelona wearing nothing but a camera and a smile, you might want to do it soon. Surprisingly, public nudity is perfectly acceptable in the city at the moment—but later this month, the city council is expected to approve a measure that will slap those who won't cover up with a $700 fine, the New York Times reports. A few people, most notably one man who enjoys an annual naked bike ride, have taken advantage of the city's lax stance on public nudity since 2004.

That was the year the city council subsidized a brochure titled "Expressing Yourself in Nudity," which noted that the law "does not contain any article for sanctions against public nudity" and that the city respected "the right of the citizenry to nudism." But, apparently, not anymore. A deputy mayor, however, explains that the proposed law is not really aimed at nudists but at those who dress improperly: "people going from the beach to the city, to museums and churches, in beach attire."
