It's the Grammy Awards, which, as we all know, are more about performances than actual awards—so the show opened, not at all surprisingly, with a performance by Taylor Swift. The music world's darling gave what appeared to be a circus/carnival/Alice in Wonderland-themed performance of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," and only after that could the host appear. Once again, it's LL Cool J. A rundown of the highlights:

It's WAR! Rabid Bieber Fans Attack Grammy Rival on Wikipedia!
Fear the Bieber! Or at least the wrath of Justin Bieber fans—especially if you had the misfortune of beating the young heartthrob at last night's Grammy Awards. Angry fans of the Bieb ran wild on Esperanza Spalding's Wikipedia page after the talented but less-well-known singer won the Best New Artist award, Gawker reports. Among the many changes Spalding found: her middle name changed to "Quesadilla"; she won the Grammy "by stealing it from Justin Bieber"; and, perhaps most poetically, "SHE IS F****** REATARD." If you'd like some un-vandalized, and likely more coherent, facts about Spalding—click here.

Wins for Lady Gaga!! Esperanza Spalding, Arcade Fire Who?
AP-The 2011 Grammys kicked off with a long, long (too long) tribute to Aretha Franklin, compliments of Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride, Christina Aguilera (who didn't flub, but did fall), Florence Welch (of Florence + the Machine), and Yolanda Adams. (Total Waste of airtime, Aretha looks better than ever, and Jennifer Hudson could have done the medley herself)!
Next:
The group awarded the prize for Best Pop Duo to Train for "Hey, Soul Sister (Live)." The group then thanked Justin Bieber for "not being a duo or a group."
Lady Gaga emerged from her egg (sporting pointy, prosthetic-type shoulders) to perform "Born This Way."
More performances, by Miranda Lambert and Muse.
Oh, and then ... wait for it ... another performance, by BoB, Bruno Mars, and Janelle Monae. (A Black Le Roux)
Winner, Female Country Vocal: Miranda Lambert wins first Grammy of her career for "The House That Built Me."
Another performance, by Justin Bieber (OMG!), teenier teenybopper Jaden Smith, and Usher.
Best Rock Album goes to Muse for The Resistance.
Best Pop Vocal Album goes to Lady Gaga for The Fame Monster (and she thanks...).
Best Country Album goes to Lady Antebellum for Need You Now.
Cee-Lo performs "Forget You"—with Gwyneth Paltrow ... and lots of Muppets (in a Peacock costume).
Song of the Year goes to "Need You Now."
At last, Rihanna, Eminem, Dr. Dre perform. Rihanna is wearing quite the dress.
Best New Artist goes to Esperanza Spalding (who beats Justin Bieber). Who is she?
Best Rap Album goes to Eminem for Recovery.
Record of the Year goes to Lady Antebellum for Need You Now.
Album of the Year, the night's biggie, goes to Arcade Fire for The Suburbs. Who?
