Compiled by Mike Webber

According to News reports it appears that Francis Reid has died. It was just a few weeks ago then DAYS purposely killed off fellow original Cast Member, Mickey. How will they paid Tribute to the character that has been there since day one and is known to 'Grandma' to everyone in Salem?

DAYS actress Frances Reid (Alice Horton) died on Feb. 3, 2010 morning. Her family members confirmed her death by posting her sentiments on the blog. Her age at the time of her death was 95. She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas. She grew up in Berkeley, California and was famous for her Alice Horton portrayal on the American soap opera Days of our Lives. It was debut in November 1965. Her final performance was on December 26, 2007. Reid was married to actor Philip Bourneuf on June 27, 1940.

He died in 1979. In 1979 she was nominated as Supporting Actress and in 1987 as a Lead Actress for a Daytime Emmy Award. 1978, 1979, 1984, and 1985 she won the award for Outstanding Actress in a Mature Role in Soap Opera Digest Award. in 2003 she was inducted into the Television Academy’s archives. In 2004 she got a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement.

I just hope they don't do anything corny to address Alice's death like when she 'died' from eating poisoned doughnuts in 2004. Grandma deserves the BEST.
