(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Will and Sonny have their date but business cuts into their pleasure!

On Monday’s episode of Days of Our Lives, their characters of Will and Sonny are still locking lips after clearing the air. They decide to have their first date with Will so cute, not really knowing how to act which is conveyed so well by Emmy winner Massey.

Sonny is the more sure-footed of the two and he’s also the busier one with his coffee house getting in the way of their date.

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: the KISS, How it Happened!

We take a frame-by-frame analysis of today's kiss. Oh, and other stuff probably happens.

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Sonny’s mom bad mouths Will – and he flees after overhearing the whole awful thing! PLUS Kiss PRE-view!

Okay, so let’s realize that Will and Sonny are gay characters so in the daytime soap world, that means they have to have all kinds of complications in their relationship before they even have their first DATE.

Heterosexual couples get to date, get to kiss, maybe more. But the gays? Oh, let’s have Will go to bed with his ex-girlfriend then let’s have him overhear Sonny’s mom say all these awful things about him which leads him to cancel his first date with Sonny.

What do they do in the writer’s room? “Hey, let’s think of another road block for the gay couple so we don’t have to deal with them actually being intimate with each other and write another love scene for Chad and his girlfriend Melanie instead.” Plus the Kiss will Happen on Friday!

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Will & Sonny try to get on same page!

Okay, Will and Sonny finally begin to communicate and realize they have feelings for each other. Finally!

But they vow to take things slow. Of course! They are the show’s gay couple so you can expect things to be very slow. Other couples are making out, in bed together etc. The gay couple at least touches hands at the end of this clip.

There are some nice scenes here though between Sonny and his mom (she wants him to date Brian!) and Will and that idiot Tad who seems to be getting over his homophobia a bit – at least enough to tell Will that Sonny is into him.

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Will and Sonny still not connecting!

Clearly the new writers (who are the old writers) have put Days of Our Lives back on track.

Will is no longer blackmailing EJ with a stupid smile on his face and is instead a young gay man trying to find his way.

We are in for a bit of a treat today as we get a nice Will and grandma Marlena scene which are always so natural and wonderful and we finally, after about a year without, get a brief scene with one-time BFFs Sonny, Will and dreamy Chad.

Sonny and Will are still trying to find their way to each other. I have a feeling this is going to take awhile.

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Sonny tries to settle things with homophobe Tad as Will tries to avoid him!

I

It’s so nice to see our gay characters on Days getting some serious screen time in recent episodes.

In these scenes, we see Will kind of jumpy and evasive about sleeping with Gabi as his mom Sami tries to pry.

Meanwhile, Sonny runs into homophobe Tad and instead of having another punching match, Sonny tries to reason with this idiot who so clearly had issues. Sonny is just a prince and is far more interested in having “T” patch things up with Will than with himself.

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Will quits working for EJ while Brian tries to persuade Sonny to go on a date!

You didn’t think the road to togetherness would be a smooth one for Will and Sonny?

We learned months ago that Sonny has feelings for Will and now Will has feelings for Sonny. But Will thinks Sonny and Brian are dating so he’s backing off.

Will Quits working for EJ and issues a warning, stay away from his mother.

Is Will making plans for EJ or Sonny? STAY TUNED!

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Salem’s homophobe/closet case Tad gets what’s coming to him from Sonny!

A good episode for the gay characters of Will and Sonny.

We finally get a nice heart-to-heart between Will and his grandmother, Marlena, who is the one person he seems to fully trust. He doesn’t tell her he slept with Gabi but indicates things are over with Sonny before they even begin.

Speaking of Sonny, he is fending off the attention of cutie Brian because he has feelings for Will. Then he runs into Tad who had punched him in the coffee house. Sonny wants to know what Tad is going to do to him in the town square when he back isn’t turned.

Tad tells Sonny that he makes him want to puke.

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: It’s the morning after for Will and GaGi who vow to be friends without benefits

For those of us who were not thrilled to see Will and Gabi sleep together, these scenes from Friday’s episode of Days of Our Lives seems to put things back on track.

Will tracks Gabi down to apologize but she takes just as much responsibility: “It was a mistake but I definitely don’t think it was all your fault,” she said.

Said Will: “Well, I feel like I led you on. I was messed up. … I wasn’t thinking straight. I was thinking straight but the problem is I’m gay.”

Will said there is no confusion about him “being bi or something. (I’m) pretty completely gay.”

That’s a good thing! Meanwhile, writers also seem to be charting a less psycho path for Gabi moving forward. She tells Will they can be “friends without benefits” and that “today is the first day of the rest of my life.”

(SOAP Q) Greg Rikaart talks about his Twitter war with fellow soap star Melissa Reeves over anti-gay Chick-fil-A

Greg Rikaart, who plays Kevin Fisher on the CBS soap The Young and the Restless, found himself in Chick-fil-A war with Melissa Reeves of NBC’s Days of Our Lives who publicly showed her support of the fast food chain that is publicly against gay marriage and has donated millions in recent years to anti-gay causes.

Rikaart called Reeves out on Twitter and in a column he wrote for Huffington Post.

Rikaart (Semi-OUT) tells TV Guide: “I did get a lot of support but the general tone of political discourse in this country is very disheartening. I was getting challenged by some people for having attacked Melissa Reeves when, frankly, what I said was anything but an attack. I expressed my disappointment that she has aligned herself with a company that promotes hatred and bigotry, and I stand by that. I welcome a conversation with her. It’s the only way people on different sides of an issue can meet in the middle and understand each other’s point of view. I would have loved that opportunity with Melissa but she blocked me from her Twitter account. [Reeves subsequently blocked everybody by shutting down the account.]

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Troubled Will and Gabi hook up, while Sonny is attacked by homophobe Tad!

So Will’s dad comes down on him for helping EJ and Lucas fails to convince his son that it is not about him being gay.

This occurs after idiot Tad confronts Will and Will sees Sonny looking cozy with Brian.
So what does he do? What any gay guy would do, right? He sleeps with a girl! That girlfriend is ex-girlfriend Gabi who have been written to become rather pathetic in recent months.

Then we have Tad confronting Sonny in the coffee house because Tad is clearly a self-loathing closet case with feelings for Will. WHAT DRAMA!

(SOAP Q) From Nuke to WilSon: The History of U.S. Daytime Gay Soap Kisses PART 5!

Will and Sonny, Days Of Our Lives (First kiss - August 20, 2012)

And here we go again. When Sonny arrived in Salem over a year ago, many fans were hoping and expecting to see him paired up with young and vulnerable Will. Or at the very least, they were expecting Sonny to pair up with ... anybody. Somebody.

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: An old friend messes with Will’s head then he clashes with Sonny!

The return of a homophobic punk named Tad who we last saw about a year ago.

Then, had big issues with Sonny being gay and now he’s got problems with Will’s sexuality.

What a closet case!

Anyway, Will is left rattled after a confrontation with Tad and it is Sonny who pays the price when Will pushes him away!

(SOAP Q) From Nuke to WilSon: The History of U.S. Daytime Gay Soap Kisses PART 4!

Will Horton has issues. But it's nothing that can't be helped by a hot snogging session in Salem Town Square with a scruffy stranger. Actually, Will must be pretty good, because Neil later helped clear him of murder charges.

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Dramatic things ahead for Sonny and Will!

In the August 22 episode of DOOL, Sonny will be attacked by a supposed friend Tad (Brendan Coughlin) who is afraid that Sonny is trying to “turn” him gay.

Smith tells Windy City Times that the show’s approach to the bullying issue will differ considerably from what’s usually seen in the media: “We’re showing both sides of it.

We’ll see where Sonny is coming from, and where the bully is coming from. It’ll be great to see people grow and mature.”

Now Will, played by Emmy winner Chandler Massey.

He’s been through quite a journey in the past year and apparently, the journey is going to include sleeping with ex-girlfriend Gabi. I’d have no problem with that (young people can be somewhat fluid as they figure themselves out) but since the show hasn’t even had Will sexually involved with another guy, I find the while ting rather annoying at this point.

Massey tells Soap Opera Digest: “Will is battling self-esteem issues. So when you get two people who have some sort of romantic history in a room together, and both are feeling insecure about themselves, they seek any comfort they can find.” Stay tuned!

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Chandler Massey on location!

Chandler Massey is stepping out of the world of Salem on NBC’s Days of Our Lives to do a small role in a new film Jesus In Cowboy Boots. GIH Reports.

Nope, Chandler does not play Jesus.

The Emmy winner plays Angelo who is described as “an athletic golden-haired boy of about 16.”

The film, written and being directed by William Carey, is a coming-of-age dramedy about a young woman (Amanda Michalka) who can’t get attention from her mother (Alicia Silverstone) and turns to an imaginary friend called The Cowboy (Billy Burke).

Angelo is a cute local boy who has attracted Vallie Sue’s rapt attention, and when she badly needs a lift to Oklahoma City, he shows up to give her a lift on his motorcycle.

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Sonny kissing Will when soap returns from Olympics hiatus next week!

Days of Our Lives has been on hiatus since The Olympics began but Will and company return to action next week.

And boy, lots of action indeed following a huge explosion that rocks the town.

But all we really care about is Will and Sonny – well mostly. In a brief moment shown here, Sonny kisses Will who doesn’t really seem to like it. (Is it because he is in lust with EJ?) Will there be a 'Sonny' Summer Romance?

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Massey confirms romance between Will and Sonny!

The Emmy winning actor sheds some light on two of Will Horton’s key relationships on the show with Sonny (Freddie Smith) and EJ (James Scott).

Here’s an excerpt from Michael Fairman’s article: Now that Will has come out, the next step is to find romance, of course! After testing the waters, Chandler indicates that this summer and into the fall, fans can expect Will and Sonny to become much closer. “It looks that way. I think it’s going to be something that hopefully the viewers have wanted to see. If I could give them that, that would be great. I am outspoken about how much I like the platonic friendship of Will and Sonny because I thought it was fresh. Regardless of how I feel about that, I am still going to play that to the best of my ability.”
The other onscreen duo that has been tantalizing viewers is the twisted relationship between the dashing EJ (James Scott) and Will, where many have joked it’s more like … master/slave!

Chandler reveals it may not be continuing. “All good things have to come to an end. I can’t help but hold back a smile, and sometimes I don’t when I work with James. I think it’s hands-down my favorite relationship that Will has. When James is in a scene, his focus is on you. That is how people are in real life; they want to get something from you. How many people aren’t afraid to do whatever it takes to do what they want? That is what makes EJ so attractive to Will. I also like Will edgier, too. It is more fun to play.”

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Will confronts his dad for stealing letter about EJ, Oops!

One of the most ridiculous things I’ve seen on Days of Our Lives in awhile is having Will’s dad, Lucas, go through his son’s backpack where Will just happens to have stuffed the letter that proves EJ is not Stefano’s son. That means the Blackmail is over and Will should have Demanded for EJ to provide Oral service imediatley. Who Will was going to be a 'Power Bottom"!

Anyway, at least this led to a really good scene where Will has it out with Lucas over his betrayal.

Thursday, July 19, 2012

(SOAP Q) GAY DAYS: Will tries to assure his dad that he has upper hand with EJ!

Will's blackmailing EJ because he knows he’s not a DiMera.  His father, Lucas, is worried sick about Will’s continued association with EJ saying the kid is “in way over his head. … It’s like a game to him and he thinks he’s got the upper hand.”

Lucas turns to Will’s grandma Marlena and her husband John for help.

Meanwhile, Will defends EJ to his mother who is flying off the handle.

There’s also growing suspicion that EJ killed his father which we know is not true but will continue to play out because he is clearly being framed.

I say we clear EJ, he and Will have a big showdown then give in to their obvious attraction to each other.
