Soap Q: GAY ‘Days' begins TODAY!

We no longer have Luke and Noah or Luke and Reid on the dearly-departed As the World Turns. Oliver and Kyle have been long gone on the soon-to-depart One Life to Live. And over at The Young and the Restless, Adam hasn’t had an off-camera kiss with a guy in two years while Phillip hasn’t been given any kind of love interest since he came back from the dead and out of the closet. 
 

But have no fear, Days of Our Lives has a new queer!

Entertainment Weekly reports that 90210 alum Freddie Smith (he was Teddy’s latest boyfriend) will make his debut TODAY to lay the groundwork for a same-sex relationship. He’ll play Sonny, a good-natured young man who returns home to Salem join his family.

”He is the center of attention kind of guy but in a good way,” Smith tells EW. ”He’s very confident and mature, he’s traveled the world and is very open-minded. I’m very excited to portray him.”

The actor does not know the identity of his on-screen boyfriend.

”I’m going to be surprised,” he said, laughing. “There are a lot of guys on the show, so it’s going to be interesting to see who I end up falling for. Someone new? Someone on the show?  We all make jokes, `who am I going to make out with first?’ It’s going to be fun to see.”

Most bets are on Will Horton who is played by Emmy nominee (and SUPER Hot) Chandler Massey.
