Just got back from spending a few weeks in the awesome Gay mecca of West Hollywood, it had lots of HOT guys and many celebs!
One morning, I was enjoying a cup of Starbucks and a doughnut at the brand new Pavilions on Santa Monica and Robertson, when I spotted a familiar Brit that was talking to a female brit. Despite a goatee, I recognized Julian Sands almost immediately. Sands is best known for roles in such films as Boxing Helena, A room with a view, and my personal favorite as Rob Lowe's rival in Oxford Blues. Recently, Gay audiences would remember as the boss in Lipstick Jungle. I didn't approach him but we did gaze at each other a few times.
One night I had to attend 2 events back to back, the first was a long overdue chance to see Candis Cayne's weekly show at the Abbey. Just before the show, I caught a glimpse of Candis chatting with Reichen Lehmkuhl, (I had already met Reichen several times in 2007, including a stimulating breakfast together) and then I approached Candis about a future interview and she would love to and also spill some Beans about working on 'Dirty Sexy Money'.
Candis's show was fun and she moved round the crowd including performing all the way to the street.
After Candis' show, I walked to next door for a Haiti relief Benefit at the Here Lounge with the headliner, Chris Salvatore of EO3. Also spotted was his very cute co-star, Daniel Skelton. Where was Q. Allan Brocka? According to his Facebook page, he was in my home city of Seattle. Darn!
I chatted up with Chris and Daniel and they promised to do an interview soon.
On a different night at a different venue, I attended the monthly Upright Cabaret show in Hollywood. (Catch my full feature soon) One of the up and coming stars performing was the Most eligible gay Bachelor, Matt Zarley. I gave him my card and he contacted me and was very professional. (More on Matt latter)
With all the stars in West Hollywood, I just hope Seattle gets some visiting celebs soon!
