TIGHT ASS: Van der Sloot Sentenced to 28 Years to OZ!
If Joran Van der Sloot hoped his guilty plea
in the killing of Stephany Flores would win him a light sentence, no
such luck: A court in Peru sentenced him to 28 years today—he faced a
maximum of 30—and ordered him to pay a $75,000 fine to Flores' family,
report Fox News and the AP.
The sentencing comes a day after a US judge declared Natalee Holloway dead. Van der Sloot remains the prime suspect in her 2005 disappearance, and her parents are still pushing for him to be extradited to the US to face trial.

Is Blagojevich Heading to 'OZ'?
Turns out Rod Blagejevich was right that President Obama's old Senate seat was worth something: A whole bunch of jail time. A jury today convicted Blago on 17 of 20 charges after deliberating for nine days. Blagojevich showed little emotion after the verdicts were read, notes the Chicago Tribune, but turned simply to his wife and whispered, "I love you."
The former governor faced up to 350 years behind bars if convicted on all charges; however, sentencing guidelines would result in less time. The jury deadlocked on two charges and acquitted Blagojevich on one, but found him guilty of wire fraud, attempted extortion, bribery, and conspiracy, among others. His legal team will likely appeal.
