(OUTscene America EXCLUSIVE) MK Chats wth an Overwhelmed, Casey Abrams on the IDOL Tour!

by MK Scott
OUTscene Editor

Last week on the IDOL Tour,  I chatted with the Gorgeous, Stefano Langone, so this week, I switched gears for the Quirky. Multi-talented, and Bearish, Casey Abrams. I do admit I was a little nervous about this one since I was unsure of what Casey would do next! The Full interview is below:

GOSSIP: J.Lo Cheated?

In case you missed it, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announced on Friday that they're splitting up

Up next: the expected deluge of gossip.
  • Was J.Lo cheating on her hubby? Bossip notes that "word on the Latino streets" is that she was having some extramarital fun with telenovela star William Levy, who starred in the video for her song, "I'm Into You." The "proof" includes the fact that the video featured some steamy embraces, as well as the fact that both Lopez and Levy have since left their spouses. (Jezebel notes that Levy allegedly cheated on his wife with more than three dozen ladies.)
  • Break-up and rumors of infidelity aside, Lopez and Anthony are still working together on Q’Viva: The Chosen, which Bossip calls "American Idol in Latin America." Simon Fuller's XIX Entertainment, which partnered with the couple on the talent search show, tells the Hollywood Reporter and Deadline it will start filming in the fall. (Either "they're handling this divorce very maturely," writes Mike Vilensky in New York, "or they just figure they might as well cash in.")
  • Anthony is apparently handling the separation quite well, flirting with female audience members at a Colombia concert Saturday night, People reports. His idea of a joke, delivered to huge cheers: "They're saying I'm single."

OVER: J.Lo chooses IDOL over controlling Hubby!

Maybe he couldn't live up to her diva demands? Or She fed upwith his Jealous rages? Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are splitting up after seven years of marriage, their rep tells Us. In a statement, the couple calls the decision to end their marriage "difficult" and "painful," but "amicable." Lopez recently rubbed elbows with Prince William and wife Kate during the royals' California trip, but her husband was notably not at her side. The couple has three-year-old twins, Max and Emme.

by MK Scott

As promised I sought and went after the gorgeous Seattle based, Idol season 10 finalist, Stefano Langone and personally welcomed him back to the Seattle area (He grew up in Kent, WA). Just as gorgeous in person as Kris Allen (My 2009 Exclusive). Just as Gay-friendly as Siobhan Magus (My 2010 Exclusive). Stefano was a joy, not because he is the FULL Package (Looks and Voice) but like, (2007's) Blake Lewis, has made Seattlites Proud. The Full interview is below:

IDOL FINAL: No Man (or WO-Man) TOPS Scotty!

Scott McCreery won the battle of the teenage country singers last night and walked off with this year's American Idol crown. The deep-voiced grocery store clerk from North Carolina is, at 17, the youngest ever to win the singing contest, reports the New York Daily News. Defeated finalist Lauren Aliana—the judges' favorite on Tuesday night—is a year younger.

"I told him at the beginning of the episode, 'Scotty are you ready to win?'" Alaina said. "He's my best friend and I love him and I couldn't be happier for him." McCreery, who wins a record contract with Universal, joked that he'd now like to spend some time "on the couch watching some SportsCenter and eating some chips." A record 122 million votes were cast, and ratings are up 4% year-on-year for TV's most-watched show, despite predictions that it would wither after Simon Cowell's departure.

MK will be talking to Scotty and others on July 8th. Please send comments!

IDOL Week 11: Who will Win Tonight?

Will we get our first female finalist since Season Six’s Jordin Sparks? Or the first-ever male country singer?

Whoever wins, “American Idol” has been revitalized by executive producer Nigel Lythgoe and proved once more a ratings behemoth. The fact that they could fill the cavernous Nokia for what was essentially a 48-minute show was proof of that.

1. Scotty McCreery: There is no underdog this week, as the kid from small town Garner, NC, is set, win or lose, for a long, successful country career just like his hero George Strait. The All-American boy next door with the dancing eyebrows and tilted microphone is a star.

2. Lauren Alaina: If you look back at our very first rankings, young Alaina, then known for a brief moment as Suddeth, was the favorite, and, after almost five months, she is back on top.

Scotty has been On TOP consistantly, so my guess he will win!

IDOL Results: Too Country?

In last night’s results show, Haley Reinhart was voted off the island to “sweet home Chicago,” leaving the field at two.

The rather dull and predictable Scotty-Lauren finale represents the inherent problem of any show which attempts to define art with a popular vote. Many will agree the most compelling performers—from Pia Toscano to Casey Abrams and James Durbin—were victims of the public’s penchant for the familiar over the different.
Now, I’m not saying that about either Scotty or Lauren. McCreery has hung around thanks to his week-to-week consistency and now has outlasted many of those more flamboyant than he with an incredible cool under fire, especially for a 17-year-old. He seems poised for the title, but don’t underestimate Lauren’s aw-shucks down-home shtick. Like Haley, she’s a deceptive killer, and could well pull an upset by grabbing the spotlight and not letting go, which is what she’s done from her very first tryout.

Haley, Started Out ountry, but J-Lo wanted her more like Stevie Nicks. Did it hurt her chances?

IDOL Week 10: MK 's Top 2!

Who will make it to the Finals? READ ON!

1. Scotty McCreery: Still out front, but the lead isn’t insurmountable. That Country Boy drawl will score with Teen Girls and Gay Boys!

2. Haley Reinhart: You just can’t put her down. Thrives on pressure and is still just a punch—or perfect performance. This Girl went from my least favorite female to my Favorite female. Even after a fall on stage mid performance, she came back stronger. She is a True Contender.

WHO's GOING?
Lauren Alaina: The pre-show favorite has a dedicated fan base. This Kelli Clarkson/Carrie Underwood Clone is not original and Bored me to tears!

IDOL Results: Shocker, No Man TOPS Scotty!

“American Idol” delivered its biggest shocker since Pia Toscano was shown the exit when metal maestro James Durbin, The 'Straight Adam', was voted off by the record total of 72 million voters, leaving the Final Three with two gals—Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart—and a guy—country predominantly TOP Boy, Scotty McCreery.

I did like James and Scotty's duet, even though it was TOO country for Durbin.

Durbin went off with an emotional “Maybe I’m Amazed” and an impassioned farewell as tears ran down his and J. Lo’s cheeks. “I worked so damn hard to get here. I had a feeling today. I’ve done so much stuff that’s never been done on this show. But I did what I came to do. Give metal a chance.”

MK predicts announcement of record deal coming by time the Tour starts!

IDOL Week 9: MK goes 'Gaga' over the Top 3!

Gaga mentored the Top 4 last night and one of the highlights was when she got up and stood behind James Durbin and really got Durbin to move!

Here are the Top 3!

1. James Durbin: As the Big Dawg puts it, he’s in it to win it, but does he have enough heartland support to overcome his God-fearing, baseball-playing, grocery clerk country crooner with the basso profundo voice?

2. Scotty McCreery: The lonesome cowboy is picking up momentum into the back stretch. Is this Adam Lambert vs. Kris Allen all over again? Will he let Durbin Top him in the end?

3. Lauren Alaina: Her staying power is impressive, and she’s growing as a performer, but can she overcome the male bias among “AI” voters?

CULTURE: Gaga Smacks Ariz. Crackdown!

Gay rights champion Lady Gaga is now taking on illegal immigration and Arizona's controversial crackdown in particular: The singer, in Mexico City for two shows, smacked the law saying, "I don't stand by many of those unjust immigration laws in my country." She said she wrote "Americano" as a response, reports the AP. Gaga next heads to American Idol, reports the New York Post, where she'll mentor the remaining four contestants on Wednesday's show.

IDOL Week 8: Results: Whose Luck Ran Out?

The Fab Five gave way to the Final Four Last Night on “American Idol” as the Compton spa concierge Jacob Lusk’s luck finally ran out.

That result was pretty much to be expected, but the real shocker was Lauren Alaina slipping down to the bottom two, as she and Jacob awaited the result of this season’s record-high 60 million votes.

“I think America fell in love with me,” Jacob told Seacrest. “Now I can sing all that classic soul and R&B. Dreams do come true. I’m a witness to that.”

My first question to Jacob during our July Interview; Are you single?

IDOL Week 8: MK's Top 4!

Last Night the finalists didn't just sing one song, but Two! Now, we are at the Top 4, will it be 2 Hunks over 2 Divas? Which Hunk will come out on TOP?

1. James Durbin: The dude has it all, charisma, chops, a sense of drama and a heartwarming back story that informs his every note. But will the American public vote for the rocker over the heartland comforts of country? We’ll soon see. Plus he is the straight Adam Lambert!

2. Scotty McCreery: The Boy Who Would Be King seems to have a hold on the teenage girl voting audience, and after tonight’s “Always on My Mind” he may well be set to take the “Idol” crown. Ryan calls him 'the Body', Does Ryan know something we don't? Still looking for any shirtless pics. I do know that is  one bull I would love to ride!

IDOL Week 7: Casey Leaves the Stage for Real!

MK was RIGHT On!

Saved by the judges last month in a stunning reversal, Casey Abrams growled his farewell on tonight’s “American Idol” results show, a victim as much of his adventurous, unlikely song choices as his cuddly teddy bear looks.

“You’re mine,” he told fellow finalist (and, if you believe the Internet, his gal pal) Haley Reinhart after finishing with the song that launched him, a version of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ “I Put a Spell on You.”

The judges, who loved him, seemed stunned, but if you read the online readers’ comments, Casey was clearly in the crosshairs in this competition, living on borrowed time. And, for all the conspiracy theorists who wondered aloud if the voting process favored the males over the females, Abrams stood alongside both Jacob Lusk and Scott McCreery as this week’s bottom three. Clearly, his raucous rendition of “Hi De Ho” last night did him no favors.

Also The IDOL announced the dates of the tour and MK will once again interview Idols for the 3rd year in a row, but besides Stefano, Scotty, James, etc who else would you like MK to interview? MK hopes to request certain ones early enough the LGBT Media won't be snubbed again.

IDOL Week 7: MK's Top 5!

Last Night was Carole King Night and the 'HOTTIES/QUEENS' were the TOP!

1. James Durbin: This heavy metal kid is proving he can do more than just rock, with a touching performance of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” that put him in the lead. This  'Straight' Adam could Win!

2. Scotty McCreery: Rebounded from a lackluster showing by showing he can sing anything with his now-distinctive style. Can he continue to prove he’s more than just a country crooner with a basso profundo voice? Only James TOPS Scotty!

3. Jacob Lusk: He showed what he can do this week (Less Nelly, Which is Hard to do with King), but this field is a tough one.

4. Haley Reinhart: Will her late rush be enough to keep her in it another week? If not, she and Casey are destined to be the next Sonny & Cher.(She is Rising to be the TOP Female)

5. Lauren Alaina: Didn’t exactly kill it this week, but American’s girl next door continues to overcome her demons, with a rabid following that won’t let her lose. 1 or 2 more weeks.

IDOL+ DWTS: Pia & Ballas Getting Serious?

Pia Toscano definitely has something to smile about! The 22-year-old singer went to dinner with her new boyfriend Mark Ballas, 24, on Easter in Beverly Hills. The new couple looked relaxed and incredibly happy as they stepped out of the restaurant with other Dancing with the Stars dancers — and Mark’s mom Shirley!

Pia met Mark on the ABC lot, where their wardrobe trailers were right next to each other. It looks as though Pia isn’t missing her longtime New York boyfriend — but we just hope she isn’t moving too quickly in the new romance or Is Pia just Ballas' beard until Derek (Hough) comes back from shooting his film?

Simon Taps Paula for New X Show!

The Simon Cowell-Paula Abdul reunion is almost on, according to an exclusive interview Cowell gave to Nikki Finke. The former American Idol judge says that while the deal is not yet done, he definitely wants Abdul as a judge on The X Factor, the US version of his hit UK show debuting this fall on Fox. "I've always wanted Paula. Always been very vocal about that," he tells Finke. "Always loved working with her even though she can be a pain. I don’t know what it is about her, but I've always clicked with her. You just have to get that chemistry, and she's right. I've never found anyone better than her."

And, though nothing is finalized, "I think there's a good chance it will be her," he says. "I think she's got a really good shot." Other judges include Cowell, of course, and Antonio "LA" Reid, chairman of Island Def Jam Music Group who quit that gig to be on the show. Cowell is also close to a deal with Cheryl Cole, who has worked with him on the UK version of the show and who Finke describes as "a Brit singer convicted of assault who's unknown to American audiences." Overall, Finke is not impressed: Based on this line-up, The X Factor sounds more like the "ZZZZZZ Factor," she writes for Deadline. And considering big names like Diddy, Snoop, Cee Lo, and Fergie were floated as possible judges, Finke says it's clear that "Cowell wants himself to be the only celebrated celebrity on his new show." Click for more pooh-poohing, and other interesting details, from Finke.

IDOL Week 6: The Hottest IDOL is sent home!

The third time was not the charm for the very likable (and HOT) Stefano Langone, the wild card who got all the way to the Final 7 with two straight last-minute reprieves after finishing in the bottom three. “If it’s the end of the road, it’s the end of the road,” he shrugged to Ryan Seacrest as he stood alongside Jacob Lusk moments before the results were revealed. “I’ll keep fighting and pushing to where I want to go in my career.”

With a final performance of Stevie Wonder’s “Lately,” Langone proved how he got this far, with a confidence and smooth delivery that wowed his female fans, the biggest one J. Lo herself, who was in his corner from the beginning. The closing montage captures her calling him “amazing” and cooing, “I love you Stefano.”

IDOL Week 6: MK's Top 6!

IDOL was back with another great performance after another and my Faves reached for the TOP!

1. James Durbin: Can a rocker win this thing? Perhaps the closest comparison is Adam Lambert, but this year’s model has everything going for him—glass-shattering vocals, dynamic stage presence, soap opera back story and a larger-than-life personality made for TV. He has a better chance of winning the Top spot over Adam. (Durbin is Straight!)

2. Scotty McCreery: Still a front-runner, but he better find another horse. His Cute Cowboy country shtick, while incredibly polished, is starting to wear a bit thin, but will he come out on TOP?

3. Casey Abrams: That J. Lo kiss could be a game-changer… unless his teenage following (and J-Lo's Controlling Hubby, Mark Anthony) get jealous, then watch out. You never know what he’s going to do, which makes for a compelling performer, if not an “Idol” winner.

DWTS Week 5 RESULTS: Sole Foreign Couple LEAVES Ballroom during America Week!

The fourth celebrity dismissed from the dance floor was Petra Nemcova and her partner Dmitry Chaplin. “It’s been life-changing journey for me and I met amazing friends,” Petra said, adding that she’s glad to have had a forum to promote her charity, the Happy Hearts Fund.

No More OPEN shirt for Dmitry!
But wasn't a back lash for being the only Foreign Couple competing during America Week? (Remember many Tea partiers watch this show)!

Big announcement! “American Idol” loser Pia Toscano – who’s been dating Mark Ballas – will sing on “Dancing with the Stars” next Tuesday while Mark dances. Ahhh!
