(OUTscene NW) Re-view: Cirque Du Soleil's Amaluna is a Great Magical Ride!

Deep in the suburbs of Seattle, and not too far from the Campus of Microsoft is a Park called Marymoor with a Big giant circus tent near the soccer field. As you go inside that tent you walk a staircase to a new world.
This was my first time in the tent that houses Cirque Du Soleil in NW Washington, and my second time seeing a CDS show (I saw Zumanity in Vegas in 2011). This new show, Amaluna, has been touring the US and in Canada for about a year. So I attended this past Thursday, to see the magic and thrills happen in this magical land.
Amaluna, which has a cast that’s more than 70 per cent female, takes the story of Shakespeare’s Tempest and switches a few genders and species so it’s a female wizard (and cellist), Prospera keeping her innocent sexy daughter Miranda at a distance from the sexy shipwrecked sailor, Romeo. The Caliban character (Viktor Kee) is a lizard, but this is a lizard king who steals almost every scene he’s in — and possibly your popcorn if you’re sitting close enough to the stage. Kee kept in Character as he slithered through the audience to the stage. Later Kee showed his talent as he juggled with flames of fire and flew to the top of the Big Top.
Prospera was the Female Wizard and was so butch, I almost labeled her the Lesbian Queen!
The Asian actress who plays Miranda is a contortionist and is still able to do this underwater. Romeo was Perfection. The Male aerial artist has a major six-pack. The 5 member acrobatic group were shirtless as they teeterboarded into the air on the Teeter Totter.
Also amazing was the Tight wire and aerial straps was they flew over the audience, like I saw in Broadway's Spiderman in 2011.
Deeda and Jeeves: Lost in Translation Via FB
The one thing I got bored over were the clowns (they were also the Hosts), Jeeves and Deeda. Their french accents were so deep that you couldn't understand most of what they were saying. Jeeves was played by woman in Male Drag who was Romeo’s manservant and promptly falls head-over-heels in love with Deeda, Miranda’s childhood nurse. The feeling is mutual, and pretty soon they are starting a family. The only bit I enjoyed was the last one when a Pregnant, Deeda popped out 8 Footballs (I mean Kids). Now that was Funny!
Amaluna is said to be the first show from Cirque du Soleil that actually has a Plot, and you get the plot with little bit a snazz added, just like a Vegas showcase, but just a short drive from Seattle.
