Going back to July 2009, I bring you my Joint interview with Season 8 Idol Finalists; Matt Giraud and Danny Gokey!
Where are they now?
Danny Gockey: After his placing on the show, Gokey signed to 19 Recordings and RCA Records Nashville as the beginning of a career in country music, releasing the single "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me." His debut album, My Best Days, was released in March 2010.
Gokey, known for his many pairs of eyeglasses that he often wore on the show, has stated he may start an eyewear line to help raise funds for his foundation. In 2012 he released his eyewear collection.
Matt Girard:
Giraud's first solo tour started at January 29, 2010 at the Forest Hills Fine Arts Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. On March, 11, 2010, on the American Idol "Results Show", Giraud performed "Tell Her About It" by Billy Joel with Scott MacIntyre. Giraud recorded a cover of the song "You Don't Know Me" with Anna Wilson.
On August 9, 2010 he was featured as vocal on "Thank You" released by Jim Brickman. Giraud performed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville for the release of Anna Wilson’s Countrypolitan Duets.
