According to The Hollywood Reporter, Richard Hatch was supposed to re-file his 2000 and 2001 taxes and pay what he owed, but he never did. He had already served more than three years in prison for tax evasion before being released in 2009.
U.S. District Court Judge William Smith added three months to the six months recommended by prosecutors and told Hatch: “You can continue to proclaim your innocence. You don’t have the option of engaging in this type of game or negotiation with the court. It needs to be a severe punishment. That’s the only thing that will deter you in the future.”
Hatch is due to report to prison tomorrow but will continue to appear on Celebrity Apprentice until The Donald utters the words “You’re Fired!” The season has already been filed except for the May finale.
