American Idol is floundering, and the director of Christian Newswire knows why: Because new judge Ellen DeGeneres is a lesbian. She’s a “left wing social activist” who spouts “lesbian one-liners” left and right, Gary McCullough writes, adding that “network television is on a pro-homosexuality bender" which Idol never should have joined. What’s next? Maybe “pro-pedophilia group NAMBLA” will get Roman Polanski a gig on Dancing With the Stars.
Um, wait one second. “As far as I know, Ellen simply promotes dancing all the time and not saying anything mean,” Mia Jones writes on AfterEllen. “Is that what he means by homosexual virtues?” Idol “has always been one of the gayest shows on television,” and the real reason for the ratings decline is probably Paula Abdul’s departure—or “the fact that the show hasn’t been good since Carrie Underwood won in 2004.”
