Sorry, Scott Brown: Rachel Maddow isn’t running against you in 2012. Brown sent a fundraising email to supporters, warning that “the political machine in Massachusetts” was trying to recruit Maddow, based, apparently, on a tweet from Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair John Walsh that didn’t actually name Maddow, but which some speculated was about her.
“In the world of fundraising, anything about which ‘some’ are talking is presumed to be absolutely true,” deadpanned Maddow’s producer Bill Wolff, who interviewed Maddow last night after she jokingly "recused" herself from hosting. Maddow said that if the machine is seducing her, “it is a silent invisible machine that hasn’t yet contacted me through any means.” She said she wasn't running, and was "bewildered" as to why Brown hadn't just called to ask if the rumor was true.
