Had the pleasure of chatting with Julie Goldman this June at Seattle Pride. Now she is back in town, Seattle is in for a treat!
New York comic dervish Julie Goldman brings her latest solo show to Seattle for one night only, Thursday October 7 @ 8:30pm @ Julia's on Broadway, also performing that evening Andrew Tsakos and Carol Maki.
About Julie: Described as a kick ass comic (New York Press) and charmingly deviant (Village Voice), Goldman is outrageous, fearless, righteous, uncensored, and openly LEZ (translation: lesbian).
She is a cast member of the "Big ...Gay Sketch Show" and the star of the "Julie Goldman Celesbian Interviews on LOGO. She has also been featured on Comedy Centrals Live at Gotham and performs regularly with The Jap Show: Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad. Julie is a 2007 MAC Award winner (Manhattan Association of Clubs and Colleges), and she most recently received the 2008 NewNowNext: Brink of Fame Comic Award in NYC.
Goldman co-starred in Big Dreams In Little Hope and has a role in Out At The Wedding, which is currently playing at film festivals around the country. She has a smash hit with her new music video, Commitment Ceremony (with BGSS cast mate, Kate McKinnon). Goldman lives in NY with her illegal wife and pug son Russell.
Julie Goldman deals with the art of stand-up like she's got nothing to lose. Goldman is a crackerjack stand-up comic whose romping pop style and perfect timing allow her to wrest the uproarious from the serious and send her audience careening toward sidesplitting bliss. Call it feminist or lesbian humor if you want, but the great thing about Goldman is she transcends all those terms and shows us that we're all in this together. She is very now and an absolute must see -- NY Press
