This year SIFF honored Academy Award winner, Sissy Spacek by screening her 3 greatest films including "Carrie", "Coal Miners Daughter" and finally "Badlands". I spoke to Miss Spacek on the Red Carpet.

(MK Scott) EXCLUSIVE with Director Stephen Kessler and the Legendary Paul Williams about "Being Still Alive"!

by MK Scott

When you get that call about interviewing one of you childhood Idols, you take it. It all started after seeing the documentary of the Legendary Oscar winning Composer plus TV and Movie star, Paul Williams called "Paul Williams Still Alive" and I reached out to see if the director, Stephen Kessler (Vegas Vacation) was coming to the screening at SIFF. Indeed he was and the subject himself, Williams. I was nervous (I even told him this) about meeting Paul, according to the film he was initially distant about interviews (that was 4 years ago) but now he was was quite friendly and easy to talk to. It was obvious that Filmmaker and subject were closer than ever!

by MK Scott

One of the World Premieres playing at the 2012 Seattle International Film Festival was Russell Brown's "White Camellias" starring Cybil Shepard and David Burtka (Yes, NPH's Hubby). The story is a melodrama that revolves around an artist in her early 60s (Cybill Shepherd) who throws a Spanish-themed dinner party (Planned by David Burtka and BF, Peter Paige) in the hopes of rekindling the great love affair of her youth. A passionate woman who fills her home with poetry and paintings, Annie is a genuine romantic which also leaves her vulnerable to disappointment and occasional delusion. As the evening progresses, her expectations of love transform as she faces painful truths about her past and present. Fueled by the strong words of her favorite poet -- Federico Garcia Lorca -- Annie will redefine her vision for the future and her definition of happiness over the course of this dark night of reckoning. I chatted with Brown in-person earlier today.

(OUTscene NW) Eddie RE-views 2 Gay Films at SIFF, 'Remington and Curse of the Zombadings'; 'Prime Time Soap'!

by Eddie Walker

The 38th Annual Seattle International Film Festival is here. It will be running from May 17 - June 10. I had the opportunity to pre-screen and review two gay films that will be showing this weekend.

The first, ‘Remington and the Curse of the Zombadings’ (directed by Jade Castro) is a definite hit with me. The film is a crazy, campy, comedic, horror flick that definitely can not be mistaken for a B-movie. I had my suspensions. I thought, ‘not another gay zombie movie’. Instead, I was happily surprised with an original storyline and plot, terrific acting, and the fiercest Filipino voodoo drag queen I ever did see.

by MK Scott

Last week I attended the Press Launch of the 2012 Seattle International Film Festival at Seattle's UPTOWN Theater. Special Guest Included Oscar Winner and Seattle-native and Western Washington University graduate, TJ Martin, who co-directed 'Undefeated', winner of Best Documentary Feature.

Martin Posed for Pictures with his OSCAR and he was just as attractive in person as he was on TV. Later I ran into Martin in the washroom and he was very interested in stories of where people watched the Oscars. I mentioned I was at the Big Gay Oscar Party at the Cinerama.
