(LIST) ‘Desperate Housewives’ 8 Most Shocking Moments

After eight years of mysterious neighbors, convoluted revenge schemes, velour tracksuits, weddings, divorces and deaths, “Desperate Housewives” is headed for the great suburb in the sky.

The ABC drama will end with a two-hour series finale, this Sunday, May 13. The program launched the comedic soap genre, paving the way for shows ranging from “Pretty Little Liars” to “Ugly Betty.” In fact, its blend of satire and melodramatic plot twists has become such a common television staple that it is difficult to remember how groundbreaking the series was when it debuted.

Remember what a watercooler moment it was when it turned out that Mike (James Denton) was Zack Young’s biological father? Or Bree (Marcia Cross) abandoned her son in the middle of nowhere? xfinityTV is bidding a fond farewell to Wisteria Lane by counting down the “Housewives’s” most shocking moments.

OVER: a 'DESPERATE' End?

On Sunday ABC programming chief Paul Lee confirmed plans to say goodbye to DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES next May after eight seasons.

"It's an iconic show that we're so proud of," Lee said. "We wanted to make sure that this show, which sort of put us on the map, had its victory lap."

Creator Marc Cherry said "the only thing harder than creating a hit show is knowing when to end it," adding he's "very aware of shows that overstay their welcome...and I just didn't want that to happen. We wanted the show to go out as a still viable and when ratings still strong." And by planning ahead, "we can have a whole year to reflect on how lucky we've been."

The 'CAKE' of BEEFcake

Saw the Season Finale of Desperate Housewives last night was so attracted to Bree's new man, Jonathan Cake (Chuck). Regardless if he is a cop, he his much sexier than the man she was with for most of the season, the very Tattooed, Brian Austin Green. It was great when Lee, actually convinced Bree that Chuck was Gay and took him to a gay bar. (He was just undercover Gay). We is much better suited for Bree, so let's hope he send her friends to prison.

ENTERTAINMENT: Is Nicollette Lying?

ABC has a secret weapon in its defense of Nicollette Sheridan’s headline-making lawsuit that alleges she was battered by ‘Desperate Housewives‘ creator/producer Marc Cherry.

The network has an eyewitness who saw the altercation and confirms Cherry’s story that he did NOT strike her, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

The witness signed an affidavit, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told RadarOnline.com exclusively. And the eyewitness is available to testify if the case goes to trial.
RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that the eyewitness says the “assault” alleged by Nicollette in her lawsuit was nothing more than producer Cherry lightly touching the top of her head as he was talking to her about how to act in a scene.
“This is not Nicollette’s word against Marc’s. The witness is going to blow Nicollette’s case out of the water. Nicollette doesn’t have any witnesses to the incident who back up her side,” the source told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

In a lawsuit filed Monday, Nicollette — who played promiscuous Edie Britt on the show for five seasons — claims she was written off Housewives after she complained to ABC that Cherry had struck her in the face on Sept. 24, 2008. She is suing for $20 million.

“People on the show feel this is a nuisance suit,” said the source. “But if she makes the rounds of the talk shows, it could get ugly for Marc.”
