• Janet Jackson: The first time the world knew she and songwriter Rene Elizondo got married was when she announced that they were getting divorced, eight years later.
• Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem: The couple kept their engagement, their wedding, and their pregnancy under wraps—at least for a while.

• Aaliyah and R. Kelly: Aaliyah was reportedly only 15 at her wedding, although her marriage certificate says 18; her groom was 27. The marriage was annulled, and the couple always denied it ever happened.
• Robert Plant and Patty Griffin: The Led Zeppelin frontman revealed earlier this year that he had "eloped and ran off to Texas."
