Due to his busy schedule Entertainment Weekly's Dave Karger was unavailable for a phone interview. He did send us his predictions to win the Oscar for the 4th year in a row. For last 3 years he has been 99% accurate, no wonder Karger is known as Mr. Oscar and will be the official Greeter of the Red Carpet for the 2nd straight year!
MK: How was your 1st year as the official Oscar Greeter?
DK: It was possibly the highlight of my career. So unpredictable and fun. I'm very excited to be doing it again this year
MK: Best Animated Film?
DK: Rango has it in a walk.
MK: Best Original Screenplay?
DK: The Artist could win it as part of a larger sweep but I think Woody Allen has the edge for Midnight in Paris.
MK: Best Adapted Screenplay?
DK: A tough three-way race between Hugo, Moneyball, and The Descendants. Usually the Academy gives it to scripts with single credited writers which helps Hugo. But I still it'll go to The Descendants.
MK: Best Song?
DK: Who cares? They should have cancelled the category this year. Muppets will win though.
MK: Best Supporting Actress?
DK: Octavia Spencer is a lock.
MK: Best Supporting Actor?
DK: Ditto Christopher Plummer for the best performance of the year.
DK: I've been saying Viola Davis all along and I still think she'll beat Meryl Streep.
MK: Best Actor?
DK: Either Jean Dujardin or George Clooney. Dujardin has the SAG and the BAFTA but I've talked to more voters who say they're going with Clooney.
MK: Best Director?

MK: And Finally, Best Picture?
BURNING QUESTION:
MK: Why was J. Edgar Snubbed?
DK: Because it wasn't good enough. It was muddled and boring and the makeup was distracting.
Thanks to Dave Karger for joining us again! By Next year we are hoping for an In-person or Video interview.
