OOPS: Gay Dems' awkward Trans press-release correction!

The San Diego Democratic Club, a local affiliate of the pro-gay National Stonewall Democrats, issued this press-release correction today regarding a ridiculously awkward misquote. The "Lorena" referenced in the correction is Lorena Gonzalez, CEO of the San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council, a regional union umbrella organization.

Without further commentary (for now): Labor Asks for LGBT Help - correction

Our recent [today] press release mistakenly quoted by Eric Banks of SEIU Local 221 as saying “while Lorena may consider herself a woman in the body of a gay man, I am the only openly gay union President here.”


It should have read, “while Lorena may consider herself a gay man in a woman’s body, I am the only openly gay union President here.”


The error was ours, not that of Eric Banks.
