Doesn't sound like Christine O'Donnell will be fading away: "Our voices were heard and we're not going to be quiet now," she said in her concession speech tonight. "This is just the beginning." Democrat Chris Coons defeated her handily in the Delaware Senate race—the margin was 57% to 40% with nearly all votes counted. He pronounced himself "honored and humbled," reports AP.
O'Donnell, who stunned congressman and heavy favorite Mike Castle in the primary, sounded happy with her impact: "We worked hard," she said. "We had an incredible victory. Be encouraged. We have won. The Delaware political system will never be the same ... the Republican Party will never be the same." Still, had Castle been the GOP candidate, most observers think he would have brought in another Senate seat for Republicans.
