It’s clear that Mario Lopez, host of Extra and Saved By the Bell alum, wants to sell lots of copies of his latest book.
To do so, he’s appearing on all kinds of shows including Mike Huckabee’s talk show on Fox.
Huckabee has said some of the most vile things about gay people that any politician ever has said so it gives one pause when Mario gushed that he is a big fan of the guy and also labeled himself as a conservative.
AfterElton.com’s Ask the Flying Monkey columnist Brett Hartinger asked Lopez’s former A Chorus Line co-star Nick Adams (pictured with Lopez during their Broadway run) for his thoughts on the matter and the classy and openly gay Adams said:
“I can tell you from first-hand experience that Mario, aside from his political beliefs, he has shown me nothing but friendship and support in regards to my personal life,” Nick says. “I am incredibly close with his girlfriend and the soon-to-be-mother of his child, Courtney Mazza. Both of them have repeatedly extended an open welcome to their home in .LA. Mario and I discussed my love life on several occasions and he regarded it like any other relationship. He really appreciates his gay following and treats everyone with the same respect.”
