Academy President Charles Brackett presents an Honorary Award to Gene Kelly (accepted by Stanley Donen), in appreciation of his versatility as an actor, singer, director and dancer, and specifically for his brilliant achievements in the art of choreography on film, and Darryl F. Zanuck presents the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award to Arthur Freed at the 24th Academy Awards in 1952.
