Willam Belli is Back in Seattle next week, as Rupaul's Drag Race goes on tour to promote Season 6, Belli will be joined by Sharon Needles, Alaska, Pandora and others and so I emailed Willam some questions about what is in store and what does he really feel about the other queens? What I got back was a reminder of Willam's flakey humor and how you will never a get a black or white answer.
MK: Welcome Back to Seattle! What do you like most about Seattle?
WILLAM: I like that it's close to Portland and it's got a Craigslist and a Neiman Marcus.
MK. So you are part the Rupaul's Drag race 'Battle of the Seasons' Tour, what do you queens have in store for the audience?
WILLAM: Well most of them crossdress and then lipsync to other people's songs. I've decided to join the status quo and work as hard as them. Just kidding (not really kidding). I do some comedy and some live stuff and wear stuff that Britney would if real life had photoshop. My favorite moments are with Michelle Visage doing Q&A's live.
MK: Who was the toughest competitor?
WILLAM: Why yes- the weather is lovely here! I'm done talking about game shows. Some people are litigious and like to send process servers to my home.
MK: Will there be anymore Drag U seasons?
WILLAM: The best thing about Drag U was seeing Mathu Andersen's talented creations and unfortunately i think we've seen the last of that show.
MK: You know, Jinkx Monsoon, is our Hometown hero, what was your impression of her?
WILLAM: She had nappy wigs. I met her and instantly liked her enough to say "just 'cause you can hit the notes, doesn't mean ya should." That was before I "got" that she was in character when she sang most of the time- a very Merman-esque persona. I like her and respect her originality, drive and talent. I still tend to hate some of her wigs though ;)
MK: Sadly, Jinkx will not be part of the tour, but in ONE word, what is your impression of ...
Manila Luzon?
WILLAM: Skunked
MK: Ivy Winnnnnnttttterrrssss?
WILLAM: Athlete
MK: Carmen Carrera?
WILLAM: Icon
MK: Pandora Box/
WILLAM: You didn't even want to spell her name right? For real? I'm sure you'll change it now but gosh...
MK: Detox?
WILLAM: force-of-nature
MK: Alaska Thunderfuck???
WILLAM: dry
MK: And Sharon Needles???
WILLAM: Wet
MK: And finally Tell us about you next Project?
WILLAM: I'm hosting the after show for Mtv for Real World. I'm very excited because it's a non-drag related job that they went ahead and hired a drag queen for. My whorespondent career is going well.
MK: Thank You!
