General Hospital Turns 50 in 24 Days, and we will be counting down with the Greatest moments in TV History. Today (from 1979-80) Laura (Genie Francis) wanted to get a job, Scotty (Kin Shriner) refused. After attending an exercise class at the Campus Disco, led by Richard Simmons (Yes, Really), Laura asks the New Manager, Luke (Anthony Geary) for a job. Scotty was furious. Luke was ordered, by the owner and Mob Boss, Frank Smith (George Gaynes) to kill Sen. Mitch Williams. Luke got drunk one night and forced Laura to dance with him, and then uncontrollably Raped Her! Laura wanted to quit, Luke begged forgiveness and he ordered her back to work after Smith ordered it. Luke then was forced to court Smith's daughter Jennifer (Lisa Marie), but Luke still had a deep Love for Laura. Luke got Laura alone and was able to seduce her, but Laura still wouldn't leave Scotty for her secret lover. When Scotty discovered the truth, he called Laura a 'Tramp' and went after Luke. Luke was about ready to get married to Jennifer and Smith threatened him. Scotty arrived and pushed Luke overboard. Luke grabs Laura and they run away for a summer of adventure and romance.
