(LIST) 7 Actors Hit By the 'Oscar Curse'!

Jessica Chastain is quite the "it" girl right now. Not only are her movies doing well at the box office, she recently won a Golden Globe and is nominated for an Oscar. But she should watch out: Award winners often go on to, shall we say, less than award-worthy projects. Celebuzz rounds up seven actors whose careers tanked, at least for a bit, after they won Oscars:

  • After Renee Zellweger won Best Supporting Actress for Cold Mountain, she made "one of the worst movies Hollywood made about women in the last two decades," Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. Cinderella Man, New in Town, and Case 39 weren't much better.
  • Cuba Gooding Jr. won Best Supporting Actor for Jerry Maguire, then decided it was a good idea to make Snow Dogs and a bunch of other similarly awful flicks.
  • Halle Berry followed up Monster's Ball, for which she won Best Actress, with "arguably the worst James Bond movie in the history of the franchise," Die Another Day. Then she made things worse by starring in Gothika and Catwoman.
  • Speaking of Halle, Adrien Brody kissed her onstage after winning Best Actor for The Pianist. But it was all downhill from there, with turns in The Village, King Kong, and The Jacket.
