Even superheroes aren't above the law. Self-appointed Seattle crime-fighter Phoenix Jones was in court today following his arrest in a pepper-spray debacle. No charges have yet been filed against Jones' mild-mannered alter-ego (read: real identity), one Benjamin Fodor; prosecutors told the judge today they want more time to make a decision, the Seattle Times reports.
Fodor was arrested after blasting pepper spray at people; he says he was breaking up a fight. And his run-in with the law hasn't stopped him from his mission. After the hearing, Fodor ripped off his shirt, Superman-style, to display his superhero costume. "I will continue to patrol with my team, probably tonight," he told reporters. "In addition to being Phoenix Jones, I am also Ben Fodor, father and brother," he noted. "I am just like everybody else. The only difference is that I try to stop crime in my neighborhood and everywhere else."
It was like the scene when the Green Arrow revealed his identity on Smallville or when Torch reveals himself in Fantastic 4. Awesome!
