On the heels of Chord Overstreet finalizing his plans to return to the show, it’s been revealed that OUT Broadway star Jonathan Groff will return as Jesse St. James.
Executive producer Ryan Murphy shared the news at a press event this week celebrating the taping of the show’s 300th song.
The openly gay performer, whose Broadway credits include his Tony nominated role in Spring Awakening, appeared on the London stage last year in the West End production of Deathtrap.
His Glee character has appeared in 10 previous episodes over the show’s first two seasons. St. James was the male lead of the rival glee club, Vocal Adrenaline, and was the love interest of Lea Michele’s character of Rachel. This time, he will be the vocal coach of Vocal Adrenaline.
