The Winklevoss twins still haven’t given up in their quest to wring more money out of Facebook; they’ve now decided to appeal their case to the Supreme Court, the law firm representing them announced yesterday. The twins are trying to back out of the settlement they agreed to in 2008 (now valued at roughly $200 million), but they’ve been shot down by both a district court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
“For whatever reason, they now want to back out. Like the district court, we see no basis for allowing them to do so,” the chief justice of the 9th Circuit court wrote in December. “At some point, litigation must come to an end. That point has now been reached.” The Supreme Court accepts less than 5% of cases, and Mashable predicts that it will not bother hearing the case.
