The timing for a Facts of Life reunion at the TV Land Awards over the weekend could not have been better for Geri Jewell who played Blair’s cousin Geri on the show.
As regular readers of Greg In Hollywood know, Geri has a new memoir out called Standing as Straight as I Can in which she write about her years on the show and later coming out as a lesbian.
Charlotte said during her speech that she was pleased that all of the girls (Mindy Cohn opposite Jesse Archer star of Violet Tendencies) who played Natalie is pictured below and Kim Fields who played Tootie was also present) had grown up “straight.”
She meant straight like a tree, solid as a rock, etc. But the audience thought she was talking about gay and straight. Anyway, it was even funnier since Geri just came out. For the record, Charlotte and Mindy were the only Facts alums to issue statements of support for Jewell after she did so, something she told in a recent interview meant the world to her.
