Scott Herman first became known as a cast member of The Real World: Brooklyn.
But since his time on that MTV show, Scott has stayed in the public eye as a model and fitness guru and been a visible straight ally for LGBT causes.
On his website, he writes about his participation in the upcoming AIDS/LifeCycle event:
I’m riding in this year’s AIDS/LifeCycle and created the “Scott Herman Fitness Team” of riders because the event’s goals and my goals are very much in alignment.
For participants in ALC, it’s to help end AIDS and to provide care and support for those who are living with the virus. If you’re HIV-positive and don’t have access to medical care and medicine, you can never reach your full potential. And you can’t stop HIV without effective prevention programs. That’s why the work of the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation is so important. And that’s why I’m riding and have set an ambitious goal of raising $200,000 to support them.
