OUTscene: “Imma Homo” Stereotypical or Revolutionary?

“Imma Homo”, a song produced by Rainbow Noise, a record label with bases in both Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington that represent LGBTQ artists that typically emulate a mainstream musical appeal, reports Lezgetreal. Compared to what passes as music these days, “Imma Homo” isn’t the worst thing out there but like most rap songs, it relies more on a catchy, repetitive hook and stereotypically inspired lyrics. In other words, outside of the rappers admitting that they are indeed, in fact, gay – they seem to use the same type of style that heterosexual rappers seem to promote within their music.
