AP-Apparently he's not just a very pretty face. Heartthrob boy wonder Justin Bieber swept 4 top honors at the American Music Awards presentation last night, including the biggie, Artist of the Year. The 16-year-old star was the youngest ever to win the award. He also grabbed honors for best pop/rock male, breakthrough artist, and album of the year for My World 2.0—trouncing stiff competition from Usher, Eminem, and Lady Gaga. "I can't stop smiling. This is amazing," gushed Bieber. "I've been singing Eminem since I was 3." He invited Usher to the stage, calling him "not only my mentor but my best friend and big brother." Best Performance? NKOTBSB (actually the New Kids were better than Backstreet)!
Usher snagged two awards for best male soul/R&B artist and for his album Raymond v. Raymond, while Eminem won for best male rap/hip-hop artist and for his album Recovery. Other winners included the Black Eyed Peas (pop/rock band), Antebellum (country group), Taylor Swift (female country artist), Rhianna (rhythm and blues female artist), and Lady Gaga (pop/rock female). In other drama, Miley Cyrus reportedly opted not to perform Every Rose Has Its Thorns in the wake of rumors that Bret Michaels was having an affair with her mom. Instead, she sang Love and Forgiveness. Gaga and Adam Lambert were No shows!
