All chute-pulling, beer-grabbing indications to the contrary, Steven Slater loves the airline business and wants to continue working for JetBlue, his lawyer says. "This is a man who only cares about his industry, the airline industry," he told reporters. Slater—currently suspended from his job while JetBlue investigates the incident—is seeking a plea bargain over Monday's meltdown and hopes to avoid a stiff penalty, the lawyer says.


Investigators probing the incident say they're beginning to doubt Slater's version of events, the Wall Street Journal reports. They say interviews with passengers don't support the attendant's claim that he flipped out after suffering an injury during a row with a passenger over baggage. A police source says some passengers have told investigators that Slater already had a gash on his forehead when he boarded the plane.
