Cheeky Californians got behind a local tradition again yesterday by mooning Amtrak passengers traveling through the town of Laguna Niguel. It was the 31st year for the "mooning Amtrak" event that supposedly began with a barroom bet in 1979 offering a beer to anyone who mooned a passing train. But the event is getting so big, with crowds up to 10,000, that the town warned visitors this year to stay away, announcing: "No to crack," reports the BBC. But the crackdown was blamed on a "stuffy" anti-mooning mayor and the event went off without a hitch.
