SOAP Q: RUKE vs ROAH?

AfterElton.com’s Gays of Our Lives columnist previews what is ahead for Luke, Reid, Noah and apparently some dude named Richard:

Luke is determined to help Reid with his legal problems regarding the malpractice suit that threatens his medical career. He goes to the man who filed charges against Reid for the death of his daughter, pleads with him to drop the suit, then tries to bribe him.

The man confronts Reid and accuses him of having ‘his boyfriend’ do his dirty work. Reid goes to Luke and demands to know what he is up to. Luke insists he only acted as he did because Reid should be helping patients like Noah and not spending his time in court. Reid is touched by Luke’s gesture.

Of course Noah interrupts at this point. He’s got an eye exam scheduled and during it discovers he can see light. When Luke runs into Noah later on, he doesn’t share the news of his exam but does share that he’s dating a guy named Richard.

Noah has become an annoying and useless character and I don’t care if he can see or not or if he’s dating Richard, Tom or Harry. I’m completely intrigued by Luke and Reid growing closer and Gays of Our Lives reports that the two will share a kiss in the coming weeks.
Van Hansis (Luke) and Eric Sheffer Stevens (Reid) both talked to Soap Opera Weekly about their storyline and each other.

Said Hansis of Stevens: “He’s such a fantastic character and so, so well executed by Eric. I like reading his dialogue, even the scenes I’m not in because of a lot of the stuff he says. It’s like he’s the character from a prime time show that was plopped into a soap opera. It’s a Twilight Zone type of thing.”

Said Stevens of his character’s attraction to Luke: “There’s a lot about Luke and his life that he [Reid] doesn’t like, but there’s also something appealing there that he can’t identify, so he’s up for exploring that. [They are like] young kids where the only thing they can think to say to the person they have a huge crush on is, ’You have the cooties‘ or something like that. Always fighting with someone you’re secretly into because you don’t have another way of interacting with that person.”
