Via Greg in Hollywood:
I saw some of David Archuleta’s posts on Twitter last night and kinda cringed.
The 2008 American Idol runner-up seems like a sweet kid so I thought about pretending that I didn’t see his tweets – filled with nervous LOL’s – about not wanting anyone to get the wrong idea just because he was seen at a gay club in NYC.
Among the Tweets he posted last night: Hey guys just wanted to clear something up real quick lol. Last night in New York I got invited to go and see my friend Charice perform…Mental note to self: always ask where before you go! Wasn’t my kind of place lol, and I had no clue! I guess you live and learn…. I just didn’t want you guys to be worried so had to let you guys know the facts!
But Towleroad.com did a post about it and makes a good point about David’s Twitter panic: “It’s too bad he considers being thought of as gay something to freak out about.”
Earlier today, David responded to some of the crticism via Twitter, of course:
I have friends who are gay, and they’re great people. Whether they’re gay or not doesn’t change how I think of them. … I have nothing against anyone, I’m sorry if that’s how it came across. I’m just not into the partying scene lol.

OK, was this club an all age place? David is only 19!
