(ASK MISTY): Young - Gay - Christian and Struggling!
Hello misty eyez I know you have a formspring but I have a whole bunch of questions about Christianity and I feel like you might know a lot of the answers. I'm 17 and gay. I came out to my mom when I was 14 (I know I was too young to come out but I thought I was grown back then lol) I really want to become a Christian now I think about it everyday and it something I really do want to become. I love hearing stories from the Bible and I think of the Bible as guidelines to becoming the best a person can be. But here is where all my questions come in. I'm only 17 once I get older can I go out for drinks or is that a sin? Can I be friends with gay people or is that a sin? Is it a sin to not want to go to church every Tuesday Friday and Sunday? Most importantly is it a sin to listen to music other than Christian music? I love the Xx, lana del rey, rhye, I feel so calm when I listen to their songs and I do listen to Christian music bcus of my mom and aunt but there's not much variety lol. I know you disagree with a few Christian ideas but its something I feel like doing and that doesn't ever mean that I'm now straight or hate gay people but it just I'm a bit confused. - Jorge
