Sawyer contracted the acting bug around age 16. He learned the craft at Goshen High School in Goshen, NY, He left Goshen for SUNY Orange, then Emerson College in Boston. From there he trekked to Hollywood, hoping, like countless others before him, to score a break in the entertainment industry. After a few auditions for "Glory Daze," he was cast as Brian, a talented ballplayer whose passion isn't baseball.
