OUTscene: (RE-view) Seattle Men's Chorus closes the season with 'FUN'!

What do you get when you combine the Seattle Men's Chorus' 60's, 70', 80's Tribute concerts with the crispness of the 2002's ABBA Tribute concert? You get Top Notch Entertainment with lots of Nostalgic FUN on the Friday Night of Pride Weekend!

Each medley had a theme with cleverly scripted introductions from chorus members at the start of each section. From Harmony of the 60's with the Righteous Brothers to the Brit Boys of the Beatles and Erasure, Pet Shop Boys. etc. Camp was played out with an appearance by Queen Elizabeth (Played by Drew Riley).

At times The conductor, Dennis Coleman (Celebrating his 30th year) turned towards the audience to lead an impromptu sing a long. No words needed, most of the audience knew the words of each song.

A special treat during Act One was a performance by the teens of Diverse Harmony, who sang Katy Perry's  'Firework.'. Afterwards, the Teens as well as the youth in the audience, all got an autographed copy of Dan Savage and Terry Miller's' It Gets Better' Book. WOW!

Act Two started off with (5 versions of) Freddie Mercury with a Queen tribute, and continued with a segment focused on Earth, Wind, and Fire. Next up was an extended segment of fantastic duets (Everly Brothers, Hall and Oates, Air Supply, etc). Soon it was time for more recent songs from groups like 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys.

The concert made you leave very upbeat and they even surprised the audience by turning the McCaw Hall Lobby in to a Disco Party!  This was by far the best SMC concert I had seen in years!
